works were handled:<br />
• Power potential studies were carried out<br />
for Naumure H.E. Project corresponding to<br />
different irrigation scenarios.<br />
• Feasibility Study Report of Arun-3<br />
Project prepared by SJVNL/ WAPCOS<br />
was examined from commercial viability<br />
aspects.<br />
• In the 5 th Meeting of Nepal-India Joint<br />
Committee on Water Resources (JCWR),<br />
Terms of Reference (ToR) for establishment<br />
of Pancheshwar Development Authority<br />
were finalized.<br />
• Proposal of NHPC for undertaking<br />
additional and confirmatory investigations<br />
for preparation of updated DPRs in respect<br />
of Tamanthi & Shwezaye HE Projects,<br />
Myanmar was examined.<br />
• The cost Estimates for preparation of DPR<br />
of Amochu (620 MW), Chamkharchu-I<br />
(670 MW), Kuri Gongri (1800 MW),<br />
Kholongchu (486 MW), Wanchu (900MW)<br />
and Bunakha (180 MW) were examined<br />
and recommended to MoP. Subsequently,<br />
agreements between GoI and RGoB were<br />
signed for Amochu, Chamkharchu-I, Kuri<br />
Gongri, Kholongchu HE Projects.<br />
• The Pre-feasibility Report on viability<br />
of Bunakha HEP (180 MW) prepared by<br />
THDC was examined and views of CEA<br />
have been sent to MoP.<br />
• The Feasibility Study Report of Wangchu<br />
HEP (900 MW) prepared by SJVNL<br />
was examined and recommended for<br />
<strong>development</strong> as RoR scheme.<br />
• The Em<strong>power</strong>ed Joint Indo-Bhutan Group<br />
Meeting was held on 22.03.2010. Views of<br />
CEA regarding Conversion of Wangchu HE<br />
Project type from Storage to ROR type were<br />
accepted.<br />
5.8.1 Other International Cooperation<br />
• The matters relating to cooperation with<br />
the countries like Russia, Canada, Congo &<br />
Tajikistan have been dealt.<br />
• A team of officers from MoWR, MEA and<br />
CEA visited China to attend Meeting of Joint<br />
Expert Level Mechanism (ELM) between<br />
India and China to discuss issues relating<br />
to trans-border rivers including exchange<br />
of hydrological data of Brahmaputra River<br />
etc.<br />
5.9 Hydro Power Plants Performance<br />
& Operation Monitoring<br />
Performance of 572 units in 160 hydro<br />
stations having capacity above 25 MW<br />
with aggregate installed capacity of<br />
35312.45 MW was analyzed in respect of<br />
their outages & generation and report on the<br />
review of HE stations for the year 2008-09<br />
was finalized.<br />
Mid-term review of generation performance<br />
of hydro-electric stations of the country<br />
for the year 2009-10 was carried out in<br />
Dec., 2009 after withdrawal of South-West<br />
monsoon by interaction with SEBs, Power<br />
Deptts. and CPSUs. The generation targets<br />
were reviewed for the remaining part of the<br />
year 2009-10.<br />
Month-wise/station-wise hydro generation<br />
targets in respect of hydro <strong>power</strong> generation<br />
having capacity above 25 MW for year<br />
2010-11 were drawn in consultation with<br />
various utilities and tentatively fixed<br />
at 111352 MU which was about 3.69%<br />
lower than generation targets for the year<br />
2009-10.<br />
To accord recognition to hydro <strong>power</strong><br />
stations for their all round performance,<br />
