Administrative Financial Acumen<br />

50 Officers were imparted Training in two<br />

batches on Development of Leadership<br />

& Administrative Financial Acumen at<br />

Indian Institute of Public Administration<br />

(IIPA), New Delhi. The mandays for this<br />

programme were 250.<br />

iii) Management Development Programme<br />

on Finance for Non-Finance Executives<br />

15 officers were imparted training on Finance<br />

for Non-Finance Executives programme at<br />

Management Development Institute (MDI),<br />

Gurgaon. The mandays for this programme<br />

were 75.<br />

12.1.3 Training of Group-D employees of<br />

CEA<br />

Twenty Six Group-D employees were<br />

imparted training in the fulfillment of provisions<br />

of the Notification of the Government on the<br />

recommendation of the Sixth Pay Commission.<br />

Each employee was imparted training of two<br />

hours daily for 15 Days i.e for 30 hrs. The man<br />

days of this programme were 87.<br />

12.1.4 Comprehensive Training<br />

programme on Tobacco Cessation<br />

for CEA Officers/ Officials<br />

Two workshops of 25 participants each<br />

on Tobacco Cessation for CEA officials were<br />

conducted by Sri Ganga Ram Hospital, New<br />

Delhi at CEA. Programme was for 75 mandays.<br />

12.1.5 In-house Training Programme<br />

The following programmes were organized<br />

through various organizations for enhancing the<br />

managerial and inter-personnel skills and for<br />

awareness about good health:<br />

1) Wellness programme on the way to<br />

live holistically by Dr. Shiv Prasad<br />

Chauhan of Anandampath, Public Service<br />

Organization.<br />

2) How to write ACR by Shri Chandan<br />

Mukherjee, Dy. Director (ISTM)<br />

3) Presentation on “Solid Bio Fuel as Coal<br />

Firing Coal Based Thermal Power Plant" by<br />

M/s Abellon Clean Energy Ltd.<br />

4) Presentation on “Enhancing Employee<br />

Commitment and Ownership in Power<br />

Utilities" by M/s Right Management India<br />

5) Presentation on “Dry Type Transformers"<br />

by M/s Dupont India Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai.<br />

12.2 Foreign Visits/ Training Programmes<br />

for CEA Officers<br />

Foreign training programmes/ study<br />

tours were planned, processed and conducted<br />

during the year 2009-10 for CEA engineers.<br />

Engineers of CEA were deputed abroad for<br />

project consultancy, International Conferences/<br />

Seminars/ Workshops and technology transfer.<br />

The details of officers who visited foreign<br />

countries during the year 2009-10 are given in<br />

Annexure-12A.<br />

12.3 Training under Apprentice Act, 1961<br />

Six Degree (Engg.), two Diploma (Engg.),<br />

six ITI qualified D/men and thirty five Vocational<br />

Apprentices have undergone training in CEA<br />

under the Apprentice Act, 1961 during the year<br />

2009-10.<br />

12.4 Recognition of Training Institutes<br />

For ensuring the <strong>development</strong> of the<br />

training infrastructure in the Power Sector and<br />

the implementation of statutory requirements of<br />

training as per Sub Rule 2(A) & 2(B) of Rule 3<br />

of IE Rules 1956, the Power Training Institutes/<br />

Centres of various SEBs/Utilities are visited by<br />

CEA officers for giving renewal/recognition<br />

to their Institutes. The following 22 training<br />

institutes/centres were visited and accorded<br />

recognition/ renewal of recognition during the<br />

year 2009-10:<br />
