Central electricity authority Annual Report 2009-10<br />
In CEA, Hindi fortnight has been<br />
organized during 15.09.2009 to 30.09.2009 and<br />
prize distribution ceremony has been held on<br />
06.10.2009 in which Chairperson, CEA presided<br />
over at the occasion. During the fortnight, six<br />
competitions were held namely General Essay,<br />
Technical Essay, Noting Drafting, Poetry<br />
Recital, Extempore Speech and Quiz in which<br />
most of the officers and employees participated.<br />
The winners of these competitions have been<br />
given cash award of Rs. 1000/- I st prize, Rs 750/-<br />
II nd prize and Rs. 500/- III rd prize respectively.<br />
Chairperson, CEA distributed the prizes and<br />
appreciation letters to the winners.<br />
1.8 Welfare Activities in CEA<br />
1.8.1 Activities undertaken for the benefit<br />
of the Persons with Disabilities<br />
Reservation is being provided in CEA<br />
to the Persons with Disabilities as per Rules.<br />
The representation of physically challenged<br />
employees in all categories of posts of CEA is<br />

In addition, due care is taken to post<br />
Persons with Disabilities to disabled friendly<br />
offices of CEA for providing the barrier free<br />
environment.<br />
Also, the guidelines issued by Ministry<br />
of Social Justice & Em<strong>power</strong>ment and other<br />
Ministries/ Departments from time to time<br />
in the related matter are regularly forwarded<br />
for implementation. The feedback of the<br />
implementation of related Programme is sent to<br />
the Ministry of Power on regular basis.<br />
1.8.2.1 Welfare of SC/ST/OBC<br />
Director (A-II) and Dy. Secretary<br />
(Accounts) have been designated as Liaison<br />
Officers in CEA to look after the welfare of SC/<br />
ST and OBC employees respectively.<br />
1.8.2.2 Activities related to Women<br />
employees<br />
Women employees of CEA have been<br />
participating in various activities viz. sports,<br />
recreation & cultural activities. They have also<br />
been co-opted as members of CEA Departmental<br />
Canteen Management Committee.<br />
1.8.2.3 Sadbhawana Fortnight<br />
As in the past, this year too Sadbhawana<br />
Fortnight was observed from 20 th August<br />
to 3 rd September, 2009. Chairperson, CEA<br />
administered “Sadbhawana Pledge” on 20 th<br />
August, 2009. The fortnight concluded with<br />
a cultural programme on 3 rd September,<br />
2009.<br />
