Seventh Grade
Rationale:
The importance of science at the seventh grade level is that mastery in previous topics is begun here. At this level, our students get the
opportunity to learn how to use the scientific tools of investigation and the scientific method. It is here that our students really learn to
expand their skills in compare/contrast, inference, inquiry, investigation, and identification. Here we feel it is importance that students
gain essential cognitive skills that will allow them to relate science knowledge with real-world applications.
Course Description:
The seventh grade science curriculum will reinforce sixth grade concepts, develop proper techniques for doing investigations using the
scientific method, and introduce students to working as a member of a team in a laboratory setting.
