active site), describe the factors that affect their rate
(temperature, pH), and examples of the roles of enzymes in the

effects the enzyme in the potato/liver has on
the breakdown of hydrogen peroxide.
OR
Salivary Amylase Lab-students will
experience the effects of salivary amylase
breaking down the saltine cracker from a
starch into a sugar
Students will analyze data from the
lab that demonstrates their
understanding of enzymes in the
human body.
Concept A: Cell Structure & Function
Students will be able to state the three parts of the cell theory.
