Proposed <strong>FY2017</strong> Budget<br />

Metro is proposing an <strong>FY2017</strong> budget totaling $3.1 billion, which includes the operating and debt<br />

service ($1.8 billion), reimbursable ($195.0 million) and capital ($1.1 billion) budgets. The total<br />

funding for the budget is comprised of the following sources:<br />

• Passenger fares and parking fees of $829.0 million;<br />

• State and local funding of $1.26 billion, consisting of $866.5 million of operating subsidy,<br />

$34.2 million for reimbursable projects, and $390.6 million in local match and system<br />

performance funds for the capital program;<br />

• Federal funding of $469.5 million, consisting of $299.5 million in formula and other grants<br />

and $170.0 million in Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act (PRIIA) funding,<br />

including $21.5 million awarded in prior years;<br />

• Planned long-term financing for the capital program of $287.7 million; and<br />

• Other funding, including advertising, joint development, fiber optic revenues, reimbursable<br />

funding from MWAA for the Silver Line, and other sources totaling $236.2 million.<br />
