NATIONAL HYDROELECTRIC POWER
CORPORATION LIMITED
National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd. (NHPC) is a
Schedule “A” Enterprise of the Government of India with an
authorized share capital of Rs.15,000 Crore and an
investment base of more than Rs.25,400 Crore. NHPC was
set up in 1975 and has now become the largest organization
for hydro power development in India, with capabilities to
undertake all the activities from conceptualization to
commissioning of Hydro Projects. The main objects of NHPC
include, to plan, promote and organize an integrated and
efficient development of hydroelectric, wind, tidal geothermal
and gas power in all aspects, and transmission, distribution,

NHPC has so far commissioned 12 hydroelectric projects
with aggregate installed capacity of 4665 MW (which are in

basis.
