A view <strong>of</strong> NTPC Gas <strong>Power</strong> Project at Jhanor - Gandhar (648 MW), Gujarat<br />

Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra, Chhattisgarh,<br />

Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and<br />

Kerala.<br />

- Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY)<br />

to make available the project management expertise &<br />

capabilities to the states from the following three options:<br />

i) Project formulation, development & implementation<br />

involving system planning, design, engineering &<br />

procurement <strong>of</strong> goods and services and construct/<br />

implement/ commission <strong>of</strong> projects covered under program.<br />

ii) Formulation and preparation <strong>of</strong> reports, project<br />

approvals, advisory support for procurement and project<br />

monitoring and supervision <strong>of</strong> quality <strong>of</strong> work.<br />

iii) Project monitoring and supervision <strong>of</strong> quality <strong>of</strong> work<br />

during construction.<br />

Under RGGVY, NESCL is carrying out the execution <strong>of</strong> rural<br />

electrification works on turnkey basis in the states <strong>of</strong><br />

Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, West<br />

Bengal, Kerala and UT Lakshadweep. In addition post award<br />

consultancy assignment are also being carried out for the<br />

project monitoring and supervision <strong>of</strong> quality <strong>of</strong> work during<br />

construction in the states <strong>of</strong> Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh<br />

and Karnataka.<br />

Gross Revenue <strong>of</strong> the Company for the year 2006-07 is<br />

Rs. 20.70 Crs and the pr<strong>of</strong>it after tax <strong>of</strong> the company for the<br />

year is Rs 2.93 Crs.<br />

7.6.3 NTPC Hydro Ltd. (NHL)<br />

NTPC has formed a wholly owned subsidiary company on<br />

12.12.2002 with an objective to develop small and medium<br />

hydro electric power projects up to 250 MW capacities.<br />

Presently, company is implementing two projects namely,<br />

Lata Tapovan Hydro Electric Project (171 MW capacity) in<br />

the state <strong>of</strong> Uttarakhand and Rammam Hydro Electric<br />

Project, Stage-III (120 MW capacity) in the states <strong>of</strong> West<br />

Bengal and Sikkim. In respect <strong>of</strong> Lata Tapovan HEP, all<br />

statutory clearances including Techno-economic and<br />

Environmental clearances have been obtained, majority <strong>of</strong><br />

land has been acquired and EPC package is under award<br />

process. With regard to Rammam HEP Stage-III, majority<br />

<strong>of</strong> statutory clearances including Techno-economic and<br />

Environmental clearances have been obtained and balance<br />

statutory clearances are under process. Further, land<br />

acquisition and infrastructure development activities are<br />

under process. Both the projects are scheduled to be<br />

commissioned in early part <strong>of</strong> XII Plan.<br />

7.6.4 Vaishali <strong>Power</strong> Generating Company Limited<br />

A subsidiary company named “Vaishali <strong>Power</strong> Generating<br />

Company Ltd.” was incorporated on 06.09.2006 with Bihar<br />
