Total volume <strong>of</strong> electricity traded during April-September 2007<br />
was 11943.01 MU and the volume <strong>of</strong> electricity<br />
traded during the same period <strong>of</strong> the previous year<br />
was 7901.62 MUs. The growth in the volume during<br />
April-September 2007 was 51.15% when compared with the<br />
volume during the same period <strong>of</strong> the previous year.<br />
If we assume the same growth in the following six months<br />
i.e. during Oct 2007 to March 2008 the volume would<br />
be 18051.85MUs during the financial year 2007-08.<br />
The percentage increase in the volume <strong>of</strong> electricity traded<br />
would be 20.16% during the year 2007-08 when compared<br />
with the volume in the previous year 2006-07.<br />
It is observed from the quarterly reports submitted by the<br />
licensees during the current year that all the trading licensees<br />
are strictly complying the CERC (Fixation <strong>of</strong> Trading Margin)<br />
Regulations 2006, dated 23.1.2006 and are charging trading<br />
margin <strong>of</strong> 4 paise/kwh.<br />
8. Notification on Escalation Rates, Inflation Rates,<br />
Discount Rate and Dollar-Rupee Exchange Variation<br />
Rate for the purpose <strong>of</strong> Bid Evaluation and Payment<br />
As per the <strong>Ministry</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Power</strong> Notification dated<br />
19.01.2005 (as amended from time to time) on<br />
Guidelines for Determination <strong>of</strong> Tariff by Bidding Process<br />
for Procurement <strong>of</strong> <strong>Power</strong> by Distribution Licensees,<br />
the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission is<br />
required to notify every six months various escalation<br />
rates, inflation rates, discount rate and dollar-rupee<br />
exchange variation rate for the purpose <strong>of</strong> bid evaluation<br />
and payment. The Commission has notified these rates<br />
vide notification dated 4.4.2007 and 24.9.2007<br />
respectively for the period applicable from April 2007 to<br />
September 2007 and from October 2007 to March 2008.<br />
9. 104 petitions were carried forward from the previous<br />
year, that is, 2006-2007. In addition 113 petitions were<br />
filed during 1.4.2007 to 30.11.2007, the year under report<br />
(1.4.2007 to 30.11.2007), taking the total number <strong>of</strong><br />
petitions to 217. Out <strong>of</strong> these, 80 petitions were<br />
disposed <strong>of</strong> during 2006-2007 (up to 30.11.2007). 33<br />
interlocutory applications were received, out <strong>of</strong> these<br />
