The allocation <strong>of</strong> work among the four Joint Secretaries in<br />

the <strong>Ministry</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Power</strong> is as under :<br />

i) Hydro <strong>Power</strong> and Vigilance & Security; Resettlement<br />

and Rehabilitation issues and Environment clearance<br />

related issues pertaining to Hydro <strong>Power</strong> Projects;<br />

Distribution, APDRP.<br />

ii) Thermal, Independent <strong>Power</strong> Producers; Fuel Supply,<br />

Ash Utilisation and Environment clearance related<br />

issues pertaining to Thermal <strong>Power</strong> Projects;<br />

iii) Rural Electrification; Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutikaran<br />

Yojana; Rural Electrification Corporation; Energy<br />

Conservation; Demand Side Management; Energy<br />

Efficiency; Training & Research; Global warming and<br />

Clean Development Mechanism; Administration,<br />

Parliament and Official Language.<br />

iv) Financial matters and Public Grievances.<br />

There is a Principal Accounts Office headed by the<br />

Controller <strong>of</strong> Accounts who in turn reports to the Financial<br />

Adviser in the <strong>Ministry</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Power</strong>. Matters relating to<br />

reservations for SC/ST, Physically Handicapped and Ex-<br />

Servicemen in the <strong>Ministry</strong> including PSUs under its<br />

administrative control are dealt with by the Deputy Secretary<br />

(Admn), who is also the Liaison Officer for SC/ST and there<br />

is separate Liaison <strong>of</strong>ficer for OBCs. The sanctioned strength<br />

<strong>of</strong> the <strong>Ministry</strong> is 337.
