* Backlog vacancies were shown distinctly along with<br />

current vacancies in the advertisements, which were<br />

released in SC/ ST populated areas. Copy <strong>of</strong> the<br />

advertisement was sent to accredited SC/ ST Associations<br />

for wide coverage, as done in case <strong>of</strong> special drive.<br />

Activities:<br />

NTPC has undertaken the following activities for benefits<br />

<strong>of</strong> SCs and STs :-<br />

Periodical meeting <strong>of</strong> SC/ST Welfare Associations with<br />

Head <strong>of</strong> Human Resources/ Head <strong>of</strong> Project at project<br />

level and with Executive Director at regional level. 36<br />

meetings were held in year 2006.<br />

Awareness Programmes for SC/ST employees at<br />

Project, Regional Headquarters and Corporate level.<br />

33 programmes were held in year 2006.<br />

Structured meeting <strong>of</strong> SC/ ST employees with Liaison<br />

Officer (SC/ ST) held at all units <strong>of</strong> NTPC.<br />

SC/ ST employees’ grievances are handled quickly and<br />

effectively at all units <strong>of</strong> NTPC. 13 SC/ ST employees<br />

had put up their grievances and all were settled.<br />

Pre-promotion training to SC/ ST employees are<br />

imparted. 635 SC/ ST employees have been imparted<br />

pre-promotion training in year 2006.<br />

Scholarship for SC/ST students pursuing degree/<br />

diploma courses in engineering and MBA/ PGDBM in<br />

HR/ Finance are awarded every year. 57 scholarships<br />

have been awarded in year 2006.<br />

Gold Medal for Personnel Management Course and<br />

Rural Development Course instituted, 9 Gold Medals<br />

were given in year 2006.<br />
