7.4.8 NTPC-SCCL Global Ventures Private Limited<br />
NTPC-SCCL Global Ventures Private Limited has been<br />
incorporated on 31.07.2007 as a 50:50 joint venture<br />
Company with SCCL for Jointly undertaking the<br />
Development & O&M <strong>of</strong> Coal Block(s) & Integrated Coal<br />
based <strong>Power</strong> Projects in India and Overseas.<br />
7.4.9 Joint Venture with Railways (Nabinagar Thermal<br />
<strong>Power</strong> Project 4x250 MW)<br />
A Joint Venture Company has been incorporated with<br />
Railways for setting up <strong>of</strong> 1000 MW coal based <strong>Power</strong> Plant<br />
at Nabinagar, Bihar. The equity structure <strong>of</strong> the proposed<br />
Company shall be NTPC (74%) and Railways (26%).<br />
7.5 Business Development<br />
Several Initiatives are being taken to develop business <strong>of</strong><br />
the NTPC in both core as well as other related areas. Details<br />
<strong>of</strong> the same are as follows :<br />
7.5.1 Core Sector<br />
7.5.1.1 Setting Up <strong>of</strong> 3x250 MW coal based power plant<br />
at Bongaigaon (Assam)<br />
A Transfer Agreement has been signed with the Govt. <strong>of</strong><br />
Assam and Assam <strong>Power</strong> Generation Corporation Ltd. for<br />
transfer <strong>of</strong> the existing power plant and setting up <strong>of</strong> new<br />
3x250 MW power plant at Bongaigaon, Assam.<br />
7.5.1.2 Joint Venture with UPRVUNL<br />
MOU has been signed on 22.11.2007 with Uttar Pradesh<br />
Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (UPRVUNL) to set up<br />
2x660 MW power project at Meja Teshil in Allahabad district<br />
in the State <strong>of</strong> UP<br />
7.5.1.3 Joint Venture with the Government <strong>of</strong> Bihar and<br />
BSEB<br />
MOU has been signed amongst NTPC, Govt. <strong>of</strong> Bihar and<br />
BSEB on 14.10.2007 for setting up 3x660 MW power project<br />
at Nabinagar, Bihar.<br />
7.5.2 Other Related Areas<br />
7.5.2.1 Joint Venture with CIL<br />
NTPC Thermal <strong>Power</strong> Project at Simhadri (1000 MW), Andhra Pradesh<br />
An MOU has been signed with Coal India Limited on<br />
15.03.07, under the umbrella, <strong>of</strong> which, one or more JV(s)<br />
will be promoted for jointly undertaking the Development,<br />
operation and Maintenance <strong>of</strong> Coal Blocks (including already<br />
identified Brahmini and Chichro Patsimal coal blocks in<br />
Jharkhand) and Integrated <strong>Power</strong> Projects.<br />
7.5.2.2 Joint Venture with Rashtriya Ispat Nigam India<br />
Ltd. (RINL)<br />
An MOU has been signed between NTPC and RINL on<br />
27.07.07 at Vizag for setting up <strong>of</strong> around 150 MW Combined<br />
Cycle <strong>Power</strong> Plant, using Blast Furnace Gas as the fuel.<br />
