BBMB<br />

BBMB discharges its functions as laid down in Section 79(1)<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Punjab Re organization Act, 1966 for which staff for<br />

the operation & maintenance <strong>of</strong> BBMB work is provided by<br />

partner State Govts./SEBs on transfer basis. However, in<br />

the event <strong>of</strong> inability <strong>of</strong> partner States/SEBs to provide the<br />

requisite staff, BBMB resorts to direct recruitment &<br />

promotion in respect <strong>of</strong> Group C & D employees only as<br />

Officers <strong>of</strong> Class A & B category are being provided by<br />

partner States/SEBs. BBMB Class III and Class IV<br />

Employees (Recruitment & Conditions <strong>of</strong> Service)<br />

Regulations, 1994 were approved by the Central Govt. &<br />

published in Part-III Section 4 <strong>of</strong> the Gazette <strong>of</strong> India dated<br />

8.10.1994. As per Regulation 11 <strong>of</strong> these Regulations, the<br />

members belonging to SC, ST, BC, Ex-servicemen,<br />

Physically handicapped persons and the dependents <strong>of</strong><br />

deceased employees in the service shall have the<br />

reservation in the service & all other concessions as<br />

prescribed by the Punjab Govt. from time to time.<br />

Accordingly, in view <strong>of</strong> provisions <strong>of</strong> Rule 6 <strong>of</strong> BBMB Rules,<br />

1974 and Regulation 11 <strong>of</strong> BBMB Class III & Class IV
