occasion <strong>of</strong> Energy Conservation Day, 14 th December, 2007<br />
and benefits to the individual, society and nation as a whole.<br />
The National Campaign was targeted in various sectors<br />
like Industrial, Commercial, Domestic, Agriculture and<br />
Educational institutions. The energy conservation<br />
awareness was communicated through print and electronic<br />
media. A postage stamp on energy conservation was also<br />
released by the Hon’ble Prime Minister <strong>of</strong> India on the same<br />
day, as a part <strong>of</strong> the national campaign to help create a<br />
movement for the energy conservation in the country.<br />
Encouraged by the response received during 2005 & 2006,<br />
National Campaign on Energy Conservation for the year<br />
2007 was also launched by the Hon’ble Minister <strong>of</strong> <strong>Power</strong><br />
on 14th December, 2006. The National Campaign on Energy<br />
Conservation focuses on the creation <strong>of</strong> consumer<br />
awareness, and on understanding <strong>of</strong> the necessity and<br />
significance <strong>of</strong> energy conservation. The Campaign also<br />
urges all energy consumers to be part <strong>of</strong> the energy<br />
conservation efforts by optimizing the use <strong>of</strong> energy and<br />
making a habit <strong>of</strong> energy saving.<br />
