the pr<strong>of</strong>essional candidates <strong>of</strong> various institutions for<br />
undergoing vocational training in this organization.<br />
9.3 Industrial Relations<br />
Regular interactions with the representatives <strong>of</strong> the Unions<br />
/ Associations are held with the representatives <strong>of</strong> the<br />
various Associations / Unions. The thrust area for<br />
discussions are related to policies as well as issues<br />
concerning with enhancing production, efficiency and<br />
improving organizational climate. The above actions <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Management paved the way for better employee - employer<br />
relations and the industrial relations during the year<br />
remained cordial. Recreational cultural and sports activities<br />
are being organized during different occasions for improving<br />
inter – personal relations and also to bring out the talent <strong>of</strong><br />
employees and their family members.<br />
9.4 Environment, Resettlement & Rehabilitation<br />
Environment<br />
412 MW Rampur Hydroelectric project has been conceived<br />
to be a run <strong>of</strong> the river project working in tandem with one<br />
<strong>of</strong> the most eco-friendly projects in the country i.e. 1500<br />
MW NJHPS. Being run <strong>of</strong> the river projects, they will have<br />
minimum impact on the ecology <strong>of</strong> the area and least<br />
disturbances to the flora and fauna. To substantiate this,<br />
further environmental studies on Terrestrial Biodiversity,<br />
Cumulative Impact Assessment <strong>of</strong> projects, Managed River<br />
Flow Study have also been got conducted. Afforestation <strong>of</strong><br />
139 hectares <strong>of</strong> degraded forest land is being taken up in<br />
comparison to 69 hectares <strong>of</strong> forest land acquired for<br />
Rampur Hydroelectric project. The' Environment<br />
Management Plan for RHEP has an estimated out lay <strong>of</strong><br />
Rs. 45.5 crores which consists <strong>of</strong> CAT Plan, muck disposal<br />
plan, fisheries plan, control <strong>of</strong> pollution from labour camps,<br />
sewage treatment facilities for near by towns, public<br />
awareness programmes, environment monitoring plan,<br />
disaster management plan and environment training<br />
programme. So far an amount <strong>of</strong> Rs. 9.0 crores has already<br />
been spent. The dumping <strong>of</strong> excavated material for RHEP<br />
has been taken up in pre-identified areas and suitable<br />
construction measures for the dumping <strong>of</strong> excavated<br />
material are being taken up to ensure the project's harmony<br />
with the environment.<br />
1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydroelectric <strong>Power</strong> Project a<br />
comprehensive environment management plan was<br />
launched with an estimated out lay <strong>of</strong> Rs. 33 crores approx.<br />
So far an amount <strong>of</strong> Rs.13.60 crores, have already been<br />
spent. In addition to above, due to the recent high silt<br />
