Delhi has also paid second installment towards long<br />

term advance due on 30.09.2007.<br />

b. Interest on Bonds/ Long term advances<br />

RBI has paid all interests on bonds by RBI under One<br />

Time Settlement Scheme for the period from<br />

01.04.2007 to 30.09.2007. Delhi has also paid interest<br />

payment due on 30.09.2007.<br />

Customer Focus Initiative<br />

NTPC has always focused on customer care and as part <strong>of</strong><br />

the same, Customer Relationship Management (CRM)<br />

System is one <strong>of</strong> the initiatives undertaken by NTPC towards<br />

strengthening relationship with customers. The objectives<br />

<strong>of</strong> the same include following :<br />

- To ensure strategic relationship development with<br />

customers.<br />

- To ensure high level <strong>of</strong> customer satisfaction.<br />

- To get customer suggestions and foresight for NTPC’s<br />

business growth.<br />

Customer Support Services by way <strong>of</strong> workshops/ seminars<br />

are being organized for State Utilitities in various areas such<br />

as O&M, HR, Finance, Planning, IT etc. About 50 nos. services<br />

have been conducted in the current year so far. In the training<br />

programs held at <strong>Power</strong> Management Institute (PMI) <strong>of</strong><br />

NTPC, two seats are being <strong>of</strong>fered to customers free <strong>of</strong><br />

charge in every program. More than 100 executives from<br />

Customers have benefited from such programs this year.<br />

This results in sharing <strong>of</strong> knowledge & practices for their<br />

business improvement and for overall sectorial growth.<br />

5.0 GROSS REVENUE AND PROFIT<br />

NTPC recorded a gross revenue <strong>of</strong> Rs. 17605.9 Crore<br />

(excluding taxes & duties) and net pr<strong>of</strong>it after tax <strong>of</strong> Rs. 4295.4<br />

crore during the first six month <strong>of</strong> 2007-08 (i.e. April to<br />

Sept. ’07) as compared to revenue <strong>of</strong> 15254.9 crore and net<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>it after tax <strong>of</strong> Rs. 3026.7 crore during same period last<br />

year (i.e. April to Sept. ‘06).<br />

6.0 RAISING OF FUNDS FOR CAPACITY ADDITION<br />

PROGRAMME<br />

6.1 Domestic Borrowings :<br />

NTPC has tied up loans from Domestic Banks and financial<br />

institutions aggregating Rs. 23334 crores as on 30th<br />
