Queries<br />

Use the Queries section of the Extended Features menu to:<br />

Turn the Patient Circuit Mode Query feature on or off<br />

Turn the Leak Test Query feature on or off<br />

The Patient Circuit Query (when enabled) is active upon turning the ventilator on and allows the<br />

operator to select the type of patient circuit that is desired (flow sensing or non-flow sensing).<br />

The Leak Test Query (when enabled) is active upon turing the ventilator on and allows the operator to<br />

perform an initial leak test of the patient circuit, prior to connecting the patient to the patient circuit and<br />

ventilator.<br />

The menu is set up as follows:<br />

QUERIES<br />

CRCT QUERY<br />

LEAK QUERY<br />

EXIT<br />

Turning Patient Circuit Mode Query on or off 40<br />

1) After entering the Extended Features menu, turn the Set Value knob until QUERIES is displayed<br />

and press the Select button.<br />

2) Turn the Set Value knob until CRCT QUERY is displayed, press the Select button and either<br />

QUERY ON or QUERY OFF is displayed.<br />

3) Turn the Set Value knob until the desired setting is displayed and press the Select button.<br />

If QUERY ON is selected, when the ventilator is next powered up, passes POST and NEXT has<br />

been selected (if Leak Query is enabled/on), ventilation and alarm activation are suspended and<br />

the message FLOW SENSOR or NO FL SENSOR is displayed.<br />

To enable the suspended alarms and begin ventilation with the ventilation settings in use<br />

during the last power cycle, turn the Set Value knob to the desired patient circuit mode<br />

setting and press the Select button while FLOW SENSOR or NO FL SENSOR is displayed<br />

If QUERY OFF is selected, when the ventilator is powered up and passes POST, it will<br />

proceed to the leak test query (if Leak Test Query is enabled/on) or immediately begin ventilation<br />

(appropriate alarms enabled) using the settings in use during the last power cycle (if Leak Test<br />

Query is disabled/off).<br />
