Protective Boot Removal<br />

Supplies/Tools Required:<br />

Replacement Screws Kit, P/N 11149<br />

Torque wrench (20 in-oz / 0.14 Nm to 60 in-oz / 0.42 Nm range)<br />

Phillips-head screwdriver<br />

To Remove the Upper Protective Boot 74 :<br />

1) Carefully place and support the disconnected ventilator in an upright position on a clean, dry<br />

surface.<br />

2) Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two flat-head mounting screws and finish washers in<br />

the legs of the upper boot (1) and the two flat-head mounting screws and finish washers in the<br />

sides of the upper boot, as indicated in the illustration on the next page.<br />

3) Remove the upper boot and insert and thread two #4-40 pan-head mounting screws into the<br />

screw holes in the ventilator’s back panel, as indicated in the illustration.<br />

Requires the use of the 1/4” pan-head mounting screw (3).<br />

4) Insert and thread two #4-40 X 1/4” flat-head mounting screws (4) with finish washers (5) into the<br />

screw holes in the ventilator’s side panels, as indicated in the illustration.<br />

Finish washers (5) should be already in place.<br />

5) Torque tighten the mounting screws to these specified values (do not over tighten to avoid<br />

damage to the finish washers);<br />

Torque tighten the screws in the back panel of the ventilator to 60 in-oz (0.42 Nm)<br />

Torque tighten the screws in the sides of the ventilator to 20 in-oz (0.14 Nm)<br />

replacement screws location, type and length to use when removing or exchanging external accessories on an<br />

<strong>LTV</strong> ® ventilator.<br />
