Procedure for NPPV Mode Set Up<br />
Set any desired Extended Features options and:<br />
1) Establish the desired ventilator controls for Control, Assist/Control, SIMV or CPAP mode as<br />
described in the preceding section.<br />
2) Set the High Pres. Limit alarm.<br />
3) Enter the Extended Features menu by pushing and holding the Select button for 3 seconds.<br />
4) Rotate the Set Value knob until VENT OP is displayed.<br />
5) Push Select.<br />
6) Turn the Set Value knob until NPPV MODE is displayed.<br />
7) Push Select.<br />
8) Rotate the Set Value knob until NPPV ON is displayed.<br />
9) Push Select.<br />
10) The NPPV LED will be illuminated.<br />
11) Exit the Extended Features menu by rotating the Set Value knob until EXIT is displayed and<br />
pushing Select until monitored data is displayed in the display window.<br />
WARNING<br />
NPPV Mode - NPPV is not a life support mode and is not suitable for patients that require life support<br />
ventilation. NPPV Mode should only be used for supplemental ventilation of non-life support patients.<br />
NPPV Mode alarms - When operating in NPPV mode, many of the standard alarms are disabled.<br />
This may result in reduced ventilation accuracy should a problem occur. Carefully read Chapter 4 -<br />
Ventilation Modes, NPPV, before selecting this mode of operation.<br />
AVERTISSEMENT<br />
Mode NPPV – Le mode NPPV n’est pas un mode de maintien des fonctions vitales continu et il n’est<br />
pas approprié pour les patients qui ont besoin d’une ventilation continue pour le maintien des<br />
fonctions vitales. Le mode NPPV ne doit être utilisé que comme ventilation supplémentaire pour les<br />
patients qui ne nécessitent pas de maintien des fonctions vitales.<br />
Mode NPPV, alarmes – Lorsque l’appareil fonctionne en mode NPPV, bon nombre des alarmes<br />
standards sont désactivées. Par conséquent, si un problème survient, la précision de la ventilation<br />
pourrait diminuer. Assurez-vous de lire attentivement le chapitre 4 – Types de respiration et modes<br />
de ventilation, mode NPPV avant de choisir ce mode de fonctionnement.<br />
