Volume Ventilation
The LTV ® 1100 ventilator offers Volume ventilation.
All machine and assist breaths are Volume Control breaths. Breaths are given according to the Tidal
Volume and Insp. Time controls. For more information on Volume Control breaths, see Chapter 6 -
Controls, Tidal Volume.
Bias Flow
The LTV ® 1100 ventilator delivers different bias flows based upon the settings the ventilator is
operating in. See the table below for delivered bias flow (see O2 Conserve in Chapter 10 – Extended
Features and Patient Circuit Mode in Chapter 12 – Operating Procedure for additional information).
Ventilator Mode

Flow Sensing Mode and O 2 Conserve OFF 10 lpm
Non-Flow Sensing Mode and O 2 Conserve OFF 2 lpm
Flow Sensing Mode and O 2 Conserve ON 0 lpm
Non-Flow Sensing Mode and O 2 Conserve ON 0 lpm
WARNING
O 2 Conserve – When CONSERVE ON is selected, the LTV ® 1100 automatically sets the bias flow to
0 lpm and selects pressure triggering. Certain patients may experience difficulty triggering a breath
with a bias flow of 0 lpm.
AVERTISSEMENT
Conservation d’O 2 – Lorsque CONSERVE ON est sélectionné, le LTV ® 1100 règle automatiquement
le débit corrigé à 0 l/min et sélectionne l’enclenchement de la pression. Certains patients peuvent
éprouver des difficultés pour enclencher un souffle respiratoire de 0 l/min de débit corrigé.
