Brooklyn Youth Chorus Academy, Inc. (aka BYC)<br />

$30,000 Brooklyn, NY<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> Concert Ensemble Training and Per<strong>for</strong>mance Program. Learning through <strong>the</strong> "Cross-Choral<br />

Training Method," a curriculum designed by Brooklyn Youth Chorus (BYC), middle and high school students learn<br />

vocal music and professional-level per<strong>for</strong>mance techniques using a sequential, experiential, and<br />

developmentally appropriate method. The Concert Ensemble is <strong>the</strong> most advanced of <strong>the</strong> BYC's seven choral<br />

divisions, and <strong>the</strong> group often collaborates with composers on commissioned works. Students will have <strong>the</strong><br />

opportunity to per<strong>for</strong>m multiple times throughout <strong>the</strong> year in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln<br />

Center, and <strong>the</strong> Brooklyn Academy of Music.<br />

Buffalo Media Resources, Inc. (aka Squeaky Wheel Film & Media Art Center)<br />

$15,000 Buffalo, NY<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> Buffalo Youth Media Institute. Under guidance of teaching artists, students explore digital media<br />

tools and techniques through an intensive, project-based curriculum to cultivate critical 21st-century skillsets,<br />

such as digital literacy, innovation, collaboration, and creativity. Completed student artworks will be exhibited at<br />

various community venues and project partner sites.<br />

Cali<strong>for</strong>nia Alliance <strong>for</strong> <strong>Arts</strong> Education (aka CAAE)<br />

$100,000 Pasadena, CA<br />

To support Create CA, a coalition <strong>for</strong> collective impact in arts education. A coalition including <strong>the</strong> Cali<strong>for</strong>nia<br />

Department of Education, <strong>the</strong> Cali<strong>for</strong>nia <strong>Arts</strong> Council, <strong>the</strong> Cali<strong>for</strong>nia County Superintendents Education Service<br />

Association, <strong>the</strong> Cali<strong>for</strong>nia State PTA and <strong>the</strong> Cali<strong>for</strong>nia Alliance <strong>for</strong> <strong>Arts</strong> Education will collect, evaluate, and<br />

report on data about equity and access to arts education. The coalition also will hold statewide convenings,<br />

streng<strong>the</strong>n partnerships, and implement strategies to restore high quality, standards-based arts education to<br />

public schools in Cali<strong>for</strong>nia.<br />

Center <strong>for</strong> Exploratory and Perceptual <strong>Arts</strong> (aka CEPA Gallery)<br />

$15,000 Buffalo, NY<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> expansion of <strong>the</strong> CEPA Gallery Partner Schools Program. Students will create and exhibit<br />

multidisciplinary works of art as <strong>the</strong>y hone visual literacy, creative writing, and critical thinking skills. Project<br />

activities will support Buffalo Promise Neighborhood goals to promote community revitalization with strong<br />

school partnerships.<br />

Center of Creative <strong>Arts</strong> (aka COCA)<br />

$45,000 St. Louis, MO<br />

To support COCA Dance Outreach. Students will participate in after-school and pre-professional dance training<br />

provided free-of-charge. The After School Dance program will provide dance instruction in jazz, modern, hiphop,<br />

Haitian, tap, and swing dance to children in St. Louis Public Schools and <strong>the</strong> Ferguson Florissant School<br />

District. The Talent Identified Program prepares intermediate students <strong>for</strong> advanced study and transition to <strong>the</strong><br />

Honors Dance Program, which provides long-term, individualized training to advance youth toward <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

professional goals. Students in kindergarten through high school will participate in <strong>the</strong> public school program<br />

and Talent Identified and Honors programs.<br />

CityDance Ensemble, Inc. (aka CityDance)<br />

$15,000 Washington, DC<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> CityDance Conservatory Professional Guest Artist Project. Pre-professional high school dance<br />

students will study diverse dance styles and artistic viewpoints with nationally and internationally known guest<br />
