To support <strong>the</strong> publication and promotion of <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>me-based journal "Conjunctions." The biannual journal will<br />

be published in print and electronic <strong>for</strong>mats, and a weekly online magazine will offer special features as well as<br />

select texts from <strong>the</strong> journal. Themes from past issues include nature writing and deception, and <strong>the</strong> journal will<br />

be promoted through reading events, social media, and <strong>the</strong> journal's website, among o<strong>the</strong>r means.<br />

Belladonna Series, Inc. (aka Belladonna* Collaborative)<br />

$10,000 Brooklyn, NY<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> publication and promotion of new books of poetry. Showcasing work that exhibits experimental<br />

and intersectional impulses, planned publications include a bilingual German/English edition of work by Uljana<br />

Wolf, as well as a collection by Jennifer Firestone. The books will be promoted through social media and an e-<br />

newsletter, as well as at <strong>the</strong> annual Association of Writers and Writing Programs conference.<br />

Boston Critic, Inc. (aka Boston Review)<br />

$10,000 Cambridge, MA<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> publication of fiction, poetry, and literary criticism in <strong>the</strong> "Boston Review" and online at<br />

bostonreview.net. The bimonthly general interest magazine juxtaposes content on current affairs with poetry,<br />

fiction, and critical essays about literature and film, featuring emerging poets and fiction witers alongside<br />

established ones. During <strong>National</strong> Poetry Month, <strong>the</strong> magazine will post a new poem each day to<br />

bostonreview.net, and will offer essays and interviews with poets in <strong>the</strong> print magazine.<br />

Boston University (On behalf of AGNI Magazine)<br />

$10,000 Boston, MA<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> publication and promotion of <strong>the</strong> journal "AGNI" and related content online. The biannual<br />

journal will be released in both print and electronic <strong>for</strong>mats, with each issue featuring fiction, poetry, and<br />

essays. "AGNI Online" will offer biweekly interviews and reviews, as well as new fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.<br />

The journal will be promoted through social media, a monthly newsletter, and a blog, among o<strong>the</strong>r means.<br />

Center <strong>for</strong> Religious Humanism (aka Image)<br />

$10,000 Seattle, WA<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> publication of contemporary literature in translation in <strong>the</strong> journal "Image." The journal will<br />

publish fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction in<strong>for</strong>med by, or grappling with, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam,<br />

showcasing how international writers are interacting with <strong>the</strong>se religious traditions today. Issues will be<br />

published in both print and electronic <strong>for</strong>mats, and translations will be made available in <strong>the</strong> journal's online<br />

archive.<br />

Center <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Art of Translation<br />

$35,000 San Francisco, CA<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> publication and promotion of print and electronic versions of <strong>the</strong> journal "Two Lines," as well as<br />

books in translation. Dedicated to building an audience <strong>for</strong> world writing, <strong>the</strong> journal often features writers who<br />

are well known in <strong>the</strong>ir own languages but unknown in English. Books, published through Two Line Press, will<br />

highlight <strong>the</strong> ethnic, cultural, and gender diversity of international literature.<br />
