Roulette Intermedium, Inc. (aka Roulette)<br />

$25,000 Brooklyn, NY<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> GENERATE new works development program. GENERATE will assist artists in <strong>the</strong> creation and<br />

presentation of new works through commissioning fees, rehearsal space, production support, technical<br />

assistance, publicity, and documentation of <strong>the</strong>ir work. The program will support composers, choreographers,<br />

and multidisciplinary artists.<br />

Seattle Theatre Group (aka STG Presents)<br />

$20,000 Seattle, WA<br />

To support a series of multidisciplinary presentations. The series at STG Presents will feature per<strong>for</strong>mances by<br />

<strong>the</strong> Batsheva Dance Company (Israel), Dance Theatre of Harlem, and contemporary music ensemble eighth<br />

blackbird with singer Will Oldham. Engagement activities will include master classes, open rehearsals, lecturedemonstrations,<br />

post-show discussions, and community workshops.<br />

Shunpike (aka SHUNPIKE)<br />

$20,000 Seattle, WA<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> Washington Independent Artists of Color Expo and Symposium. The convening <strong>for</strong> independent<br />

artists and arts groups from around Washington State will provide an opportunity <strong>for</strong> discussion, networking,<br />

and learning. The Expo will include workshops, master-classes, a keynote address, panel discussions, exhibitions,<br />

and per<strong>for</strong>mances.<br />

Spoleto Festival USA<br />

$25,000 Charleston, SC<br />

To support artist fees <strong>for</strong> selected works during <strong>the</strong> Spoleto Festival. The festival will feature per<strong>for</strong>mances from<br />

national and international artists in dance, <strong>the</strong>ater, music, and opera. Presentations will include Compagnie XY's<br />

(France) physical <strong>the</strong>ater work "Il n'est pas encore minuit;" <strong>the</strong> American premiere of Luca Francesconi's opera<br />

"Quartett"; a new production of Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin," directed by Chen Shi-Zheng (China); a<br />

production of Vivaldi's "Farnace"; and a per<strong>for</strong>mance by choreographer Hillel Kogan.<br />

Stern Grove Festival Association (aka Stern Grove Festival)<br />

$40,000 San Francisco, CA<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> Stern Grove Festival. The festival will feature free outdoor per<strong>for</strong>mances by artists including <strong>the</strong><br />

San Francisco Symphony and <strong>the</strong> San Francisco Ballet, as well as world music, pop, and jazz artists. Local artists<br />

from various disciplines will be commissioned to create and per<strong>for</strong>m site-specific works. Engagement activities<br />

will include hands-on workshops and camps <strong>for</strong> youth, as well as pre-show arts activities and discussions.<br />

Tamar Rogoff Per<strong>for</strong>mance Projects (aka Tamar Rogoff Per<strong>for</strong>mance Projects)<br />

$20,000 New York, NY<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> final development and presentation of "Grand Rounds," a dance-<strong>the</strong>ater work. Choreographer<br />

Tamar Rogoff will partner with Dance <strong>for</strong> Parkinson's Disease (Dance <strong>for</strong> PD) participants, as well as professional<br />

dancers, actors, and athletes, to explore <strong>the</strong>mes of aging, healing, and death. The multigenerational cast will<br />

present <strong>the</strong>ir work at <strong>the</strong> La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club.<br />

<strong>the</strong>ater et al inc. (aka The Chocolate Factory Theater)<br />
