Cinema St. Louis<br />
$10,000 St. Louis, MO<br />
To support <strong>the</strong> 26th St. Louis International Film Festival. Panels, seminars, filmmaker events, and free screenings<br />
<strong>for</strong> students and families will take place during <strong>the</strong> festival. Works to be screened include American and<br />
international narrative, short and documentary films, programmed <strong>the</strong>matically. Previous <strong>the</strong>mes include<br />
human rights, environmental, and Show-Me Cinema, a series that showcases works from St. Louis and Missouri.<br />
Festival activities will take place at variety of venues in partnership with organizations such as Contemporary Art<br />
Museum St. Louis, St. Louis Public Library, KDHX radio, and local universities.<br />
Cinema Tropical Inc. (aka Cinema Tropical)<br />
$15,000 New York, NY<br />
To support "The Cinema Tropical Film Series." The series highlights Latin-American cinema in venues throughout<br />
New York City. Curated programs include <strong>the</strong> <strong>2017</strong> Cinema Tropical Film Festival and <strong>the</strong> premiere of<br />
contemporary Latin-American films touring <strong>the</strong> international film circuit in partnership with Lincoln Center.<br />
Cleveland International Film Festival, Inc. (aka CIFF)<br />
$10,000 Cleveland, OH<br />
To support <strong>the</strong> 41st Cleveland International Film Festival. The festival will present contemporary feature-length<br />
and short films from around <strong>the</strong> world, complemented by interactive panel discussions and educational<br />
programs <strong>for</strong> junior high and high school students. Festival programs also will include cinema from <strong>the</strong> African<br />
Diaspora, <strong>the</strong> work of Asian and Pacific Islander filmmakers, and a series of films devoted to dance,<br />
photography, drama, and o<strong>the</strong>r art <strong>for</strong>ms.<br />
Columbia Film Society (aka The Nickelodeon Theatre)<br />
$15,000 Columbia, SC<br />
To support <strong>the</strong> Indie Grits Film Festival. Presented annually by <strong>the</strong> Nickelodeon Theatre, festival events will<br />
celebrate Latino arts and culture and explore its influence on Sou<strong>the</strong>rn culture. The program will include film<br />
screenings and educational workshops showcasing <strong>the</strong> work of artists from Latin America and <strong>the</strong> Sou<strong>the</strong>astern<br />
United States. Additionally, <strong>the</strong> festival will host a one-day summit in which participating artists can exchange<br />
ideas and best practices, and discuss challenges.<br />
Cucalorus Film Foundation (aka Cucalorus Film Festival)<br />
$20,000 Wilmington, NC<br />
To support <strong>the</strong> 23rd Cucalorus Film Festival. Film screenings, live per<strong>for</strong>mances, site-specific installations, and<br />
educational programs will be presented during <strong>the</strong> festival. Events are programmed <strong>the</strong>matically and will include<br />
work-in-progress screenings, a curated program of live per<strong>for</strong>mances incorporating dance and film, and an<br />
interactive installation inspired by David Lynch's film "Blue Velvet." Held in fall in downtown Wilmington, North<br />
Carolina, <strong>the</strong> festival is focused on supporting innovative artists and encouraging creative exchange.<br />
Docs In Progress, Inc. (aka Docs In Progress)<br />
$15,000 Silver Spring, MD<br />
To support "Docs in <strong>the</strong> City," a curated film series. This series will feature presentations of new work and<br />
works-in-progress produced by emerging and established filmmakers centered on a specific topic or <strong>the</strong>me,<br />
followed by discussions with <strong>the</strong> presenting artist and a guest expert. Open to <strong>the</strong> public, as many as six<br />
