Electronic <strong>Arts</strong> Intermix, Inc. (aka EAI)<br />
$30,000 New York, NY<br />
To support <strong>the</strong> Artists Media Distribution Service and related activities. EAI's distribution service engages broad<br />
audiences across <strong>the</strong> nation, making historic and contemporary media art works publicly available through<br />
multiple plat<strong>for</strong>ms and digital access channels. The archive contains more than 3,700 works ranging from video<br />
pioneers of <strong>the</strong> 1960s, such as Joan Jonas, Nam June Paik, and Dara Birnbaum, to new digital works by emerging<br />
artists, such as Sondra Perry, Takeshi Murata, and Shana Moulton. As many as 700 works will be digitized and<br />
added to <strong>the</strong> archive during <strong>the</strong> project period. Through distribution of <strong>the</strong> archived collection, <strong>the</strong> project<br />
generates direct income <strong>for</strong> artists through royalties from rentals and sales.<br />
Environmental Film Festival in <strong>the</strong> Nation's Capital (aka DC Environmental Film Festival)<br />
$20,000 Washington, DC<br />
To support <strong>the</strong> <strong>2017</strong> D.C. Environmental Film Festival. Held in <strong>the</strong> spring with events programmed around <strong>the</strong><br />
D.C. metropolitan area, <strong>the</strong> festival presents films including documentary, narrative, animated, experimental,<br />
and short films about environmental issues. Filmmakers, scientists, environmental experts, and educators are<br />
invited to speak at <strong>the</strong> screenings in alignment with <strong>the</strong> festival's mission of advancing public understanding of<br />
<strong>the</strong> environment through <strong>the</strong> power of film. Films screened in <strong>the</strong> 2016 festival include "The Babushkas of<br />
Chernobyl" by Holly Morris and Anne Bogart, "How to Let Go of <strong>the</strong> World" by Josh Fox, and Helen Haig-Brown's<br />
"My Legacy."<br />
Enzian Theatre, Inc. (aka Enzian)<br />
$25,000 Maitland, FL<br />
To support <strong>the</strong> 26th Florida Film Festival. Held in <strong>the</strong> spring, <strong>the</strong> festival screens independent American and<br />
international works and features industry <strong>for</strong>ums, panel discussions, and opportunities to meet filmmakers in<br />
attendance. Previous festival events include <strong>for</strong>ums on animation and screenwriting and a panel with <strong>the</strong><br />
Orlando Film Commission. Free and discounted tickets will be available to local audiences through partnerships<br />
with cultural organizations and educational institutions.<br />
Facets Multimedia Incorporated (aka Facets)<br />
$65,000 Chicago, IL<br />
To support <strong>the</strong> Chicago International Children's Film Festival and related media arts programs <strong>for</strong> children. Held<br />
in <strong>the</strong> fall, <strong>the</strong> festival is juried by both children and adults. An extensive selection of children's films and videos<br />
from around <strong>the</strong> world will be presented. Related festival activities include school field trips to <strong>the</strong> festival, <strong>the</strong><br />
opportunity <strong>for</strong> international directors to present <strong>the</strong>ir work in classrooms, and a youth cultural immersion<br />
program, which offers opportunities <strong>for</strong> participants to serve on juries at international film festivals. Scholarship<br />
awards and reduced admission is made available to students and families through community partnerships. In<br />
addition, select works screened at <strong>the</strong> festival will be available on-demand through <strong>the</strong> newly developed web<br />
streaming plat<strong>for</strong>m, Facet Kids.<br />
Film Forum (aka Film Forum)<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>atrical premieres of American independent and <strong>for</strong>eign films at Film Forum. This year-round<br />
film exhibition program presents New York City <strong>the</strong>atrical premieres of American independents and <strong>for</strong>eign art<br />
films, many of which will receive <strong>the</strong>ir United States premiere. Since 1970, Film Forum has been committed to<br />
