To support <strong>the</strong> Lotus World Music and <strong>Arts</strong> Festival. The festival will feature free and ticketed concerts, festival<br />

processions, exhibitions, installations, and music per<strong>for</strong>mances. Engagement activities will include<br />

demonstrations, collaborative art-making activities, and educational workshops.<br />

MAPP International Productions Inc. (aka MAPP)<br />

$10,000 New York, NY<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> creation, production, and touring of multidisciplinary per<strong>for</strong>mance works. MAPP will produce<br />

and tour "Demolishing Everything with Amazing Speed" by puppeteer/per<strong>for</strong>mance artist Dan Hurlin; "The<br />

Peculiar Patriot," by playwright/per<strong>for</strong>mer Liza Jessie Peterson; and "Poor People's TV Room" by<br />

choreographer/per<strong>for</strong>mance artist Okwui Okpokwasili. Each project also will include a suite of related<br />

engagement activities that will be made available to touring partners and presenters.<br />

Madison Square Park Conservancy, Inc. (aka Mad. Sq. Park)<br />

$20,000 New York, NY<br />

To support a multidisciplinary exhibition of sculptural glass plat<strong>for</strong>ms by artist Josiah McElheny and related<br />

per<strong>for</strong>ming arts activities. Madison Square Park will work with sculptor and glassblower McElheny to create<br />

three large, colorful industrial glass structures, inspired by parts of a building, which will serve as plat<strong>for</strong>ms <strong>for</strong> a<br />

series of artist residencies. The park will work with organizational partners Danspace, Blank Forms, and Poets<br />

House to select dance, music, and poetry artists to present free site-specific works on <strong>the</strong> structures. Docent-led<br />

tours, workshops, and open rehearsals also will be offered.<br />

Midnight Circus in <strong>the</strong> Parks<br />

$15,000 Chicago, IL<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> creation and presentation of circus arts. Midnight Circus in <strong>the</strong> Parks will create a new circus<br />

work to tour throughout Chicago neighborhoods. The circus will collaborate with <strong>the</strong> Chicago Parks District and<br />

local community partners to engage <strong>the</strong> public through per<strong>for</strong>mances and workshops.<br />

Midtown Detroit, Inc.<br />

$35,000 Detroit, MI<br />

To support DLECTRICITY: Nuit Blanche Detroit, a nighttime festival. The free outdoor festival will feature sitespecific<br />

installations of light art, video, and per<strong>for</strong>mance in Detroit's cultural center by international, national,<br />

and local artists. In addition to installations, <strong>the</strong> festival will present artist talks and interactive events. Festival<br />

organizers will collaborate with several partners including <strong>the</strong> Detroit Institute of <strong>Arts</strong>, <strong>the</strong> Museum of<br />

Contemporary Art Detroit, <strong>the</strong> College <strong>for</strong> Creative Studies, <strong>the</strong> N. Namdi Center <strong>for</strong> Contemporary Art, Art<br />

Detroit Now, and <strong>the</strong> University of Michigan, among o<strong>the</strong>rs.<br />

More Art Inc (aka More Art)<br />

$15,000 New York, NY<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> creation and presentation of "NYsferatu". More Art will commission multimedia artist Andrea<br />

Mastrovito (Italy) to create an animated retelling of F.W. Murnau's 1922 silent film "Nosferatu." Mastrovito will<br />

update <strong>the</strong> film to reflect contemporary issues surrounding immigration. Recent immigrants will participate in<br />

workshops during which <strong>the</strong>y will view and discuss <strong>the</strong> original film, as well as work with Mastrovito to rewrite<br />

<strong>the</strong> film's title cards to reflect <strong>the</strong>ir personal experiences. More Art will collaborate with community partners to<br />

put out an open call <strong>for</strong> musical scores to be a part of <strong>the</strong> final product. Free public screenings, panel<br />

discussions, workshops, and public <strong>for</strong>ums will be offered.<br />

Mount Tremper <strong>Arts</strong>, Inc. (aka Mount Tremper <strong>Arts</strong>)<br />
