Fairbanks Concert Association (aka FCA)<br />

$20,000 Fairbanks, AK<br />

To support a multidisciplinary per<strong>for</strong>ming arts series. The Concert Association will present artists in a series of<br />

per<strong>for</strong>mances and related engagement activities. Proposed artists include <strong>the</strong> Versa-Style Dance Company, <strong>the</strong><br />

Portland Cello Project, Rhythm Future Quartet, spoken-word artist Shane Koyczan, and David Sedaris. Additional<br />

activities may include a production of "Intergalactic Nemesis," a multidisciplinary stage production written and<br />

directed by Jason Neulander.<br />

Foundation <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Cali<strong>for</strong>nia State University, San Bernardino<br />

$15,000 San Bernardino, CA<br />

To support multidisciplinary arts workshops in Cali<strong>for</strong>nia State Prisons. Experienced teaching artists will lead<br />

workshops in disciplines such as painting, drawing, dance, and creative writing. Each workshop will revolve<br />

around a particular <strong>the</strong>me chosen by <strong>the</strong> participants and artist facilitators. Then, <strong>the</strong> groups will select and<br />

research at least three disciplines to integrate into <strong>the</strong>ir projects. The work will be presented to invited guests<br />

through an interactive culminating event, and an online component will make <strong>the</strong> work available to <strong>the</strong> general<br />

public.<br />

French Institute Alliance Francaise (aka FIAF)<br />

$10,000 New York, NY<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> Crossing <strong>the</strong> Line Festival. The festival will present interdisciplinary per<strong>for</strong>mances and events<br />

throughout New York City by national and international artists. Featured artists may include <strong>the</strong>ater artist Aaron<br />

Landsman, choreographer Padmini Chettur (India), choreographer Faustin Linyekula (Congo), <strong>the</strong>ater artist Tiago<br />

Rodrigues (Portugal), <strong>the</strong>ater artist Adelheid Roosen (The Ne<strong>the</strong>rlands), choreographer Bouchra Ouizguen<br />

(Morocco/France), and <strong>the</strong>ater artists Daria Deflorian and Antonio Tagliarini (Italy).<br />

Fuse Box Austin (aka Fusebox)<br />

$40,000 Austin, TX<br />

To support <strong>the</strong> Fusebox Festival. The free festival will present contemporary <strong>the</strong>ater, dance, film, literature,<br />

visual arts, and music at sites throughout Austin. Featured artists may include dancers Antony Hamilton and<br />

Alisdair Macindoe (Australia), composer Graham Reynolds and <strong>the</strong>ater collective Lagartijas Tiradas al Sol<br />

(Austin/Mexico City), choreographer Beth Gill, choreographer David Neumann, choreographer Kaori Seki<br />

(Japan), composer Aki Onda (Japan), multidisciplinary artist Jim Findlay, and visual artist Wura Natasha Ogunji<br />

(Nigeria), among o<strong>the</strong>rs. Artists also will participate in engagement activities such as workshops, lectures,<br />

panels, and discussions.<br />

Germantown Cultural <strong>Arts</strong> Center, Inc. (aka BlackRock Center <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Arts</strong>)<br />

$15,000 Germantown, MD<br />

To support Global Routes, a multidisciplinary presenting series at <strong>the</strong> BlackRock Center <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Arts</strong>. The<br />

BlackRock will present artists in genres including world music, and dance. Per<strong>for</strong>mances will be accompanied by<br />

workshops, residencies, and artist discussions. Featured artists may include hip-hop group Companhia Urbano<br />

de Danza (Brazil), and world music artists Raghu Dixit (India).<br />

Guil<strong>for</strong>d Per<strong>for</strong>mance Lab Inc (aka Vermont Per<strong>for</strong>mance Lab)<br />

$45,000 Guil<strong>for</strong>d, VT<br />
