Weak signal on 7300 kHz, Oct 14 at 0133 UT, heavy frequency-flutter as
confirmed with BFO a lot like what you hear when there are extreme auroral
conditions causing Doppler effect in ionosphere, but in this case I think
the transmitter was defective. Aoki lists as Serpukhov, VOR, in Spanish; I
thought it was Spanish before looking it up, but couldn't be sure:
7300 VORUSSIA 0100-0200 Sp 250kW 270deg Moscow RUS.
Have others noted this problem?
7300 transmitter problem. This frequency flutter problem on 7300 has been
there for years. It follows the transmitter to 5900 during the winter.
SAUDI ARABIA A very good propagation on 13 m.b. 0800-1200 UT on Oct
SINGAPORE 6185 RSI, at 1115-1315 UT on Oct 20, programming in Chinese,
IDs "RSI", often mentions RSI website, several "Singapore" jingles. Good
reception. Scheduled for 1100-1400 UT. I occasional see postings for China
Huayi Broadcast Co. here during this same time period, but I wonder how
CHBC's 15 KW could compete with RSI's 250 kW. Not a trace of them today.
Does CHBC still change to 4830 in the winter?
