the opening and closing routines were by a YL who mentioned, among other
things, that "We may change our frequency and transmitting hour to avoid
jamming wave. You never know when Shiokaze will be jammed."
9779.97, presumed Furusato no Kaze, 1608-1630* Aug 4, M&W talks in JP to
1624, then a couple mins. of mx; closing routine by YL at 1627, including
what seemed to be an address and/or website spelled out slowly; did not
catch any ments. of "Furusato," "Nihon," or other ID, so still not sure
which stn this is; xmsn ended with a long (5 sec.) tone at 1630, then off
a few secs.s later. Generally fair signal.
UNID 12135 An unID station scheduled on air in the 1530-1630 UT slot in
the Far East, probably to Korea or Chinese mainland. Nothing noted so far
yesterday Aug 1st and today Aug 2nd.
(John Briggs, NWRDXC, Aug 2 via dxld)
Dear OM, 12135 kHz is additional service of Open radio for North Korea
(ORNK) via Taiwan.
(Sei-ichi Hasegawa-JPN, NDXC Aug 13 via dxld) 1530-1630 UT.
Looking around for Firedrake, against Sound of Hope, found this, Aug 6: at
1314 on 14450, FD was JBA // much stronger 13970. At 1326 found some very
weak audio, maybe music on 16490, aside ute pulses on 16494; SOH/FD has
been reported around here lately from Japan. Aoki Aug 6 shows:
16480*Xi Wang Zhi Sheng SOH 0000-2400 1234567 Chinese 1 ND ? TWN SOH a07
Jul.22- 16480-16520
At 1342, FD on 10300 much stronger than // 9200 kHz.
(Glenn Hauser-OK-USA, dxld Aug 6)
While checking out FD/SOH on 16480v in Aoki, I noticed the next entry,
which could explain a log on 17330 as in 7-088 from ITU: "They also had a
broadcast from China on 17330 at 1733"
17332 Yantai Radio 0000-2400 1234567 Chinese 0.5 ND Yantai C1631 CHN
12130E3725 Coast Radio A3E
Does this coastal station transmit any audio, like some others do, even
music, which could be mistaken for a broadcast station, or even relay some
real broadcasts?
(Glenn Hauser-OK-USA, dxld Aug 6)
UGANDA 4976 Radio Uganda (pres), extremely weak at 0325 UT on July 31.
Some audio here and there, mostly bits of music. The package included a
het, CODAR and QRN.
UNID 6155.2 R. Fides, Bolivia, or R. Banda Orienta, Uruguay? 2238-...,
24 July, Spanish, fast f/ball match rpt.; clipped audio; 22341, QRM de
empty carrier.
There's a difference between the Bolivian & the Uruguayan Sp. accents,
with the latter being closer to that of Argentina, but I was simply unable
to get a clue.
