PAPUA NEW GUINEA 3335 R. East Sepik 1201-1302+ Aug 17. Mx program just<br />

ending with an Engelbert Humperdinck tune; 1201 nx in En; an N<strong>BC</strong> program<br />

note at 1208 was followed by a pop mx program; recognized "Stuck in the<br />

Middle With You" among others. Good signal and // 3315, which was fair;<br />

both freqs nearly gone by 1400.<br />

3385 R. East New Britain. Still off the air in the 1100-1400 time frame.<br />

Last heard with election coverage on July 15. Maybe they got voted off the<br />

1<strong>05</strong>7 W w/more voice-over talk and ments of "program" "Sunday", recap of<br />

the songs chart positions. 1<strong>05</strong>9 continuned brief anmnt w/ment of "station"<br />

and island filler mx. 1100 childrens choir island song. Same W host at<br />

1104 followed by more island mx. Decent signal w/some thun<strong>der</strong>storm<br />

crashes. Fading after 1100. Haven't hrd this one or seen it reported in a<br />

long time. Nice to see it back. Hopefully its a permanent reactivation.<br />

The other "usuals" were also on except 3335.<br />
