Wolfgang, Many thanks for your ISR loggings - they seem to confirm what I<br />

heard - except that 15640 couldn't be heard at the time in Russian -<br />

perhaps not on air? I think 9985 and probably 7420 will replace 11 & 13<br />

MHZ in Persian later in the year. As probably you've noticed, Kol Israel<br />

is only using three transmitters - perhaps the high power ones (500/300kW)<br />

and maybe the 100kW is in reserve? All of the "small" ones seem to have<br />

been taken off air some time ago.<br />

Take a listen to the Amharic programme from just before 1830 and see what<br />

time you hear the language change to Tigris - there is a difference<br />

between the two languages.<br />

JAPAN [and non] This information is on the Radio Japan website. The<br />

full frequency schedule is attached as a PDF file. The changes are the<br />

first two pages, the next two are the current schedule.<br />

Service Update. Changes to the Broadcast Areas of Radio Japan. The<br />

following changes to the language services and broadcast areas will come<br />

into effect from 1 October <strong>2007</strong>. There will also be related changes to air<br />

times and frequencies.<br />

Please also note that the annual frequency changes will come into effect<br />

>from 28 October. A new frequency chart will be issued around 20 October,<br />

and displayed on this website.<br />

The main changes from 1 October will be:<br />

Discontinuation of services in German, Italian, Malaysian and Swedish (The<br />

Internet pages of these 4 language services will also be closed).<br />

Discontinuation of the Japanese service to Europe, North America, and<br />

Hawaii.
