No signal observed on 9675[but usually noted in 0300-0900 UT segment], not on 11855v either today. (wb, wwdxc BC-DX Dec 19) SERBIA/BOSNIA 7240 for the first time I heard R Serbia Internat via Bijeljina Bosnia around 1500-1530 UT in Spanish, world nx at 1500-1510 UT. Supposedly reduced 125 kW of power over a non-directional antenna, not the tiny 10 kW tx box anymore which was in use previously since September 2006. Signal not strong but readable. Co-channel interference by BSKSA Riyadh in Persian 1500-1800 UT and PBS Xizang in Chinese. At 1525 UT an "indigestible mess" noted on this channel. (wb, wwdxc BC-DX Dec 15) Probably Bijeljina-Jabanusa is on air right now on 7240, at 1525 check I found a signal which I think is just too strong for originating from the low power transmitter at Obrenovac-Stubline. However, reception suffers considerably from one or even two co-channel stations, one of them much off-frequency to an extend that the produced het is already a very low hum rather than a SAH. The prominent carrier is spot on 7240, and this prominent carrier appears to originate from the Radio Serbia transmitter, so it appears that one of the unid. co-channels is the culprit. Programming as scheduled, i.e. Spanish wrapping up (still announcing the old radioyu.org website), some minutes of IS, followed by Arabic at 1530, all without carrier break, i.e. via the same antenna. Re. their new service on Eutelsat W2: Why on 16 deg. East? This slot is relevant for the Balkans but not for Central Europe, hardly anyboy has a dish pointing at this position here. The alternative would be 13. deg. East, already in use by RTS Sat and Beograd 1 by way of a GlobeCast multiplex on Hotbird 6 (11.585 GHz v), so it would be only logical to put Radio Serbia on air here, too. On W2 they now use a multiplex of the Bulgarian company ITV Partner (11.140 GHz h), uplinked from Sofia, so they do not save the audio circuits to Jabanusa but instead even need one to Sofia now. (Kai Ludwig-D, dxld Dec 14) Serbian language sce now from sign on 1100 until 1400 beginning of external sce on 7240. Most of the time Serbian and classical music, free channel until around 1300 UT, after that QRM from China. Reception now much better than two weeks ago. It seems tx now stronger. In the late afternoon reception now possible but not nice due to regular QRM. At 1800 to 2000 UT reception differs according to atmosph conditions, sometimes WYFR stronger, sometimes Serbia. On last two Saturdays VOR instead of WYFR from 1800 to 2000. Mostly from 2100 very weak or no reception on 7240 until 2200. But yesterday I discovered that // fq of 6100 remains until 2230 with good reception on air with English language service. I don't know when 6100 is signing on. During that long pause only tiny 10 kW. box from Stubline, Serbia, was in use. Also Dec 16, 1100-1200 UT in Serbian, the Stubline unit was in use again instead of Bijeljina non-directional outlet. Stubline unit is always off frequency by approx. 40-50 Hz. Much fading and S3-4 signal on peaks. Noon svc is supposedly not covered by the rental contract with Bijeljina site. // direct audio via net (wb, wwdxc BC-DX Dec 15) 7239.95 Afternoon program in Serbian 1100-1200 UT via tiny 10 kW Stubline unit on odd frequency today, also afternoon outlets from 1400 UT (En) and
1500 UT (Sp) came NOT from Bijeljina Bosnia today, latter as previously noted on Dec 15th. So seemingly no Sunday service from powerful 125 kW site just across the border in Bosnia. (wb, wwdxc BC-DX Dec 16) Serbia resumes North American service too. IRS is back not only to Europe to NAm: heard opening English at 0200 UT Dec 16 on 7115 kHz, repeated ID, then news. This was their WeNAm service before it was cancelled years ago. Maybe also resumed to AUS at 1330 UT on 11735? But that would collide with Turkey. Fair signal here but muffled voice and DRM interference made it difficult to follow.
