tribal music. Sign off with National Anthem at 2230. Fair to poor. Co-
channel QRM from a weak Croatia.

CHINA 5030 CNR-1 jammer, 1125-1155+, Sept 21, Chinese talk. Local
music. Very weak. Much better on the following parallel frequencies: 6110,
7280, 9680, 9780, 11665, 11710, 11785, 11825, 11990, 12110, & 12040. Some
frequencies with echo effect.

This corrects my previous log of Taiwan on these frequencies. My log of
Taiwan on these frequencies is actually China- CNR-1. Thanks to Ron Howard
for the correct info.

The CNR-1 transmissions are all intended jamming - on 11785 is VOA's
Mandarin service via Udorn at 1100-1400 UT, while on 9680 is listed Radio
Taiwan Intl at 1100-1800 and on 9780 at 1000-1400 UT, both via Huwei and
in Mandarin according to the current WRTH and schedule. None of these
frequencies appears in the current NDXC schedule for CNR.
As a clue to what's going on, the Chinese usually operate more than one
jamming transmitter, and often out of sync causing an echo. Watch your S
meter and you'll see it "wobbles about" continuously. And at times the
Chinese will also 'entertain' us with the drums and cymbals of Firedrake
too. Also check the schedules of the VOA, RFA, BBC and All India Radio -
as well as that of RTI - for their Mandarin, Tibetan and Uighur language
broadcasts. And if that isn't enough, the Clandestine stations listed
under China on pp 504 of the current WRTH are all jammed by China using a
mixture of multiple CNR transmissions and Firedrake.
