PERU Colin Miller has recently kindly devoted some time researching,
editing & providing some updates to the Excel files. (I haven't uploaded
these changes as yet)
One such update was the coordinates for Radio El Sol de Los Andes -
Juliaca, Peru (3230 kHz) as:
15 29 53 S 70 05 25 W
Finally having spent a little time looking around the nearby vicinity I
located these two towers at
15 29 56.30 S 70 05 45.70 W
Please note that GE coordinates often differ from real coordinates by a
small margin. The distance between the towers is about 60 meters so maybe
the masts for the antenna for the SW station. The mast/towers are quite
substantial which surprises me.
POLAND 6105, at 1950- UT, Radio Racja on June 23. ID in Belarussian at
good to very good levels. The transmitter doesn't sound at all like the
old Radio Polonia transmitters, so is it certain that this transmission is
direct from Poland? Interesting jingle, 'Lay, lay, lay, Moya krajina
Belarus'.
Acc. to Radio Racja, the site is still Warsaw. The transmitters in Warsaw
were not owned by the former Radio Polonia, but by the telecom operator TP
Emitel. The Racja prgr is produced and fed in a different way than the
Radio Polonia prgrs were, probably this makes a difference in the output
result as well. Also, not every of the old Tesla txs used to behave in the
same way, plus the audio problems always were less distinct at a closer
range. For example, when listening in Warsaw, the typical audio problems
were almost not noticable at all.
Checked 6105 kHz outlet two weeks ago, and R Racja sound looks like
excellent now, not to compare to the terrible disturbed sound from Warsaw
broadcasting house on R Polonia in past years.
I would say yes, when I checked it recently I found a slight trace of the
well-known rumble.
However, I was surprised by the transmission quality, too. The modulation
depht was much better than while these transmitters were used by Polskie
Radio. Apparently now a limiter/compressor is in use and other measures
were taken to improve the audio level and to eliminate or at least reduce
the rumble. One can only wonder why they do it now, when it's really too
late?
Btw, here is a recording of Radio Racja via Leszczynka (the shortwave
plant near Warsaw) in 1999, from the first period of activity which came
to an end in 2002:

Back then it had been said than the phone-quality content after the ID had
been produced under conspiratory circumstances at Minsk. The transmission
had even lower modulation that on Polskie Radio programming, as it was the
