LUXEMBOURG 6095 DRM schedule effective June 25, 2007 (short waves only)
via DX Mix News, Bulgaria, June 26, via dxld ... 0000-2400 on 6095 JUN
050 kW / 060 Europe RTL Radio German.
Re the above listing - there was no DRM signal on 6090 at 2130 UT on June
26th, other than splatter from a DRMer on 6090. CRI in Arabic on 6100 was
completely clear of QRM - the only way to hear it when DRM on 6095 was by
using USB. On the 27th DRM is on 6095 as usual at 0900UTC. So is LUX
shifting to avoid QRM?
(later) Re my mail of June 26 concerning DRM - I meant to write that
there was no DRM on 6095 (NOT 6090). Apologies for this mistake. However,
on June 27 I found that DRM (Luxembourg) had gone off air (6095) at tune
in soon after 1900 and CRI in Romanian was a very strong signal on 6090
with strong co-channel from another - possibly BBC via Oman. Frequencies
6095 and 6100 were apparently empty.
On checking later (after 2130) I discovered that the DRM I thought I'd
heard the previous night on 6090 was in fact coming from 6085 (Ismaning).
Using USB on 6090 revealed a clear channel. Ismaning has a "softer" noise
level on exact channel than it does in it's sidebands, and this is
probably what mislead me. So RTL Luxembourg is no longer 24 hrs on 6095.
I didn't hear LUX 6095 this morning - I don't think it's on air now at
1000 either, although I do have some noise from my computer. It was off at
1800 last (Thursday) evening too, and I had a nice signal from BBC Oman in
Persian on 6090, but had to use USB due to the bzzzzzzz from 6085. A
little later there was a weak unid signal on 6100 which went off air
before 2130. I couldn't even guess what it was though.
(Noel R. Green-UK, wwdxc BC-DX June 29)
6095 DRM. I checked LUX 6095 also, it seems bc time has been shortened to
approx. 1000-1900 UT only.
(wb, June 29)
This should be the explanation:

Says, amongst a mention of Deutsche Welle cutting back its DRM
transmissions one step after another: [LUX] "At present 5990 is not in
operation during the evenings and at night due to technical problems with
a transformer that needs to be replaced." Probably this concerns co-
located 6095 as well.
