9680 RRI Jakarta, at 1007-1027 UT on Nov 25 (Sun.), in English, KGRE
program #5702 presented by Sue, Maggie and Kevin, talks about the KGRE
anniversary BBQ, played pop Indonesian songs, fair, light QRM (WYFR in
French). Propagation this year has indeed been different. In past years
when WYFR switched to this frequency, it was usually goodbye to RRI &
KGRE, but not this year. Some days now it is hard to tell if WYFR is even
under RRI.
IRAN 711 Ahwaz Radio in Arabic. I picked up a station in Arabic on 711
kHz around 1730 UT neck to neck with the local station of youth and
sports. A show called Good Evening was hosted by OM/YL, the style was
close to the Arabic section of VOIRI. No songs, or loud music, with
listeners call in, followed by an interview with a sheikh taking about
Haj, then a program called that day in history, followed by an ID around
1840 UT with a radio drama. They are still on it's 1910 UT and they are
still sometimes beating the local network here in Cairo.
Any idea about their schedule ? I tried but couldn't
get to Radio Ahwaz, looking for a QSL here.
JAPAN [to KOREA D.P.R.] 5985, Shiokaze/Sea Breeze via Yamata, Japan,
*1400-1430* UT on Nov 23 (Fri.), in English, open carrier on at 1359 UT,
starts with piano IS, YL with sign-on announcements, requests information
about abductees, gives e-mail address, mailing address and three phone
numbers (seemed to be 81356845058, etc.), OM with program "News on North
Korea Issues", reading items from Japanese newspapers, IDs "This is
Shiokaze Sea Breeze from Tokyo, Japan", YL with sign-off announcements,
gives clear "JSR" callsign, so Yamata indeed does still use their
callsign, but used only once. Some days have noted strong jamming here,
but not today. Reception was fair.
deutschen NHK Sendung vom 29. Sept 2007. (wb, Nov 24)
JORDAN 1035 Amman FM radio. Around 1700 UT I picked up a station in
Arabic broadcasting Arabic songs for King Abdullah of Jordan, followed by
another hot about Jordan as well. It was my first time to hear Jordan so
clear on that freq, around 1715 UT there was a jingle AMMAN FM, followed
by another Arabic songs. I wonder why an FM station - as the name stated -
goes on the MW freq ?? first time to hear that station as well.
KAZAKHSTAN 7490 YFR in German via Almaty, very strong carrier S=9+30dB,
but tiny low audio of only about 10% modulation level. 1800-1900 UT. From
1900 UT similar via Samara-RUS 7240, see under Russia.
9310 1300-1400 41,49,54 A-A 200kW 132degr, Burmese?
and I guess that the Family Radio transmission in listed Burmese at 1300-
1400 and heard - just about - on 9310 kHz, will also be from one of the
weak modulated transmitters. EiBi lists 200 132 Almaty-Nikolayevka.
