UT. Today Nov 27th observed with much distorted audio. Also two spurious<br />

signals of this outlet occurs 82.92 kHz apart: on 7447.08 and 7612.92,<br />

latter much stronger.<br />

4835, B07 0200-0400, 1300-1800 UT Radio Pakistan News & Current Affairs<br />

Channel Radio Pakistan launched its News and Current Affairs channel in<br />

2001. It is available on shortwaves for B07 at 4835 kHz via Islamabad<br />

transmitter API-4 (100 kW).<br />

The transmission is in Urdu and English languages. The English<br />

transmission is available at 0300-0400 and 1600-1700 UT. It is heard in<br />

Pakistan and the neighboring countries.<br />

In addition to shortwave, the channel is relayed on medium wave<br />

frequencies by Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, Quetta and some other<br />

domestic stations. The new medium wave transmitters and frequencies of<br />

Radio Pakistan Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta 1332, 1170, 1134 kHz<br />

respectively, are being used for the relay of this channel.<br />

At the launch of this channel it was hoped that some objectivity in news<br />

coverage would take place but even after passage of six years the standard<br />

of news coverage is similar to any Asian or African state broadcaster. The
