Derzeit Franzoesisch, siehe Anhang. JD: Besonders ab 2100 Uhr, da soll dort Englisch kommen, aber tut es das tatsaechlich? Ansonsten waere auch noch interessant, ob es auch auf Hotbird Stereo mit nach rechts verschobener Balance ist. Ja ist es, was ein reichlich bescheidenen Klang verursacht, weil der rechte Kanal damit natuerlich teilweise reichlich uebersteuert ist. (Kai Ludwig-D, Aug 2) Right now again no problem to access the stream here via file -> open. Until 2000 they had programming in Spanish, now Arabic is on again. Enclosed a recording off Eutelsat Hotbird at 1659, with a change from Arabic to French. Same defective audio than on the webstream where the insufficient 22 kbps encoding makes matters even worse of course. The same TOH opener had just been used for starting Arabic, too, with headlines being read out on the talkbed that had been faded down immediately for the opening announcement of French. So the schedule includes French 1700-1800 and Spanish 1900-2000, assuming that these are hour-long programmes each. English could be 1800-1900, which would be 19:00 local time, probably explaining mentions of this time. Altogether this is obviously a revival of what they once offered via their now shut down shortwave transmitters (and at times on LW/MW, too, like Spanish on 252), just this time via satellite. Apparently Radio Algerienne no longer considers shortwave as a suitable distribution platform to reach Europe, since at the same time they lease shortwave airtime to reach Africa. It is also quite remarkable that they consider religious programming as more suitable for Africa than this secular service. (Kai Ludwig-D, Aug 2) Just switched on my Hotbird satellite equipment tonight, and did a download of the latest registrations. on 12538 GHz horizontal TV: In total 1208 programmes amongst them on local #257 program Algerie TV. Radio: In total 472 programmes channels, amongst them chaine-1 on #131, and chaine-2 on #133, on my local radio channel #132 Radio Algerie Internationale program channel. Very irregular managed broadcasts. Foreign language segments or 5 mins lasting newscasts start sometimes up to xx.x4 minutes later. Sound track sometimes distorted and sometimes off frequency[upload]. Here is the summarization log of my Radio Algerie Internationale observation:
24 hrs Arabic sce, except 0515-0600 and 0900-1000 daily Holy Quran. No programme at 1000-1100 UT slot. Whistle tone pause instead, due of noon break? - But chaine-1 and chaine-2 local radio relay still on satellite transponder channel at this time slot. French at 1100-1115, 1300-1330, [few days also 1330-1400 - but irregularly], 1430-1445, 1505-1530, 1615-1632, 1700-1715, 1730-1800, 2030- 2100. English 1400-1405, 1900-1930. Spanish 1500-1504, 1930-2000. During night about ?0100-0400? UT heard "Musique du Monde" and annmts in French in between. Wonderful music mixture. Modern popular songs in French, Portuguese and Spanish from Third World - Cuba, Brazil, Mexico, and West African [Benin, Ivory Coast etc.] countries. At 0558 UT frequency schedule given in Arabic.
