At places where traffic is regulated by a qualified agent or by luminous roadsigns, they can<br />

cross the roadway only when traffic is authorised in their walking direction.<br />

8. Pe<strong>de</strong>strians can not in any case linger or stop on the roadway unless necessary.<br />

9. When the roadway is divi<strong>de</strong>d in many parts by one or many refuges or central reservations,<br />

pe<strong>de</strong>strians who have reached one of these can g<strong>et</strong> into the next part of the roadway only if they<br />

respect the instructions edited by this Article.<br />

10. Persons who push children prams, sick or invalid persons' wheelchairs are submitted, to the<br />

pe<strong>de</strong>strians rules, the same prevalling for invalid persons who circulate in a vehicle stirred by<br />

themselves on the condition of not circulating at a speed superior to that of a pe<strong>de</strong>strian moving<br />

at pace speed.<br />

Section 2. Convoys<br />

Article 49:<br />

1. The interval b<strong>et</strong>ween automobile vehicles forming a convoy in respect of a trip to make<br />

tog<strong>et</strong>her must be of at least 30 m<strong>et</strong>res.<br />

A convoy can not occupy a distance of more than 500 m<strong>et</strong>res. When this occurs, it must be<br />

divi<strong>de</strong>d into groups of vehicles occupying the way or a distance of a maximum 50 m<strong>et</strong>res.<br />

However these provisions are not applicable to military vehicles forming a convoy:<br />

a) In built-up areas;<br />

b) B<strong>et</strong>ween sun-s<strong>et</strong> and day-break;<br />

c) By foggy time reducing visibility at less than 30 m<strong>et</strong>res.<br />

2. The first vehicle of a convoy must bear on a panel fixed in front of the vehicle, painted in red<br />

in a yellow base, the words " ATTENTION CONVOY" easily readable by day light at a 100<br />

m<strong>et</strong>res distance.<br />

The last vehicle of a convoy must bear a panel fixed at its back, painted in red on a yellow base,<br />

the words "END OF CONVOY" easily readable at day light at a distance of 100 m<strong>et</strong>res.<br />

Military convoys are signalled in conformity with provisions fixed by the Minister holding<br />

Defence in his portfolio.<br />

3.Coupled vehicles making a convoy must be separated into groups of a 500 m<strong>et</strong>res maximum<br />

length and the interval b<strong>et</strong>ween groups must be of 30 m<strong>et</strong>res at least.<br />

Article 50:<br />

On bridges, the interval b<strong>et</strong>ween vehicles provi<strong>de</strong>d with a speed plate in application of Article<br />

29,4 must be of ten m<strong>et</strong>res at least.<br />

Section 3. Yoked vehicles<br />

Article 51:<br />

1. A carriage can not be composed of more than four animals in line or more than three animals<br />

in front.<br />

2. The driving or yoking equipment must allow the driver to master the yoked animals and to<br />

drive his vehicle with ease and precision.
