These provisions are however not applicable to vehicles the speed of which, if unloa<strong>de</strong>d and<br />

climbing, can not exceed 25 Km per hour.<br />

2. Wheel bandages must present a rolling surface without any hollow or protusion likely to<br />

damage the public way.<br />

Bandages can be provi<strong>de</strong>d with non-skid chains but only to g<strong>et</strong> out of particularly muddy and<br />

slippery areas.<br />

3. Is forbid<strong>de</strong>n the circulation of self propelling vehicles and trallers pulled by these vehicles,<br />

when their wheels are provi<strong>de</strong>d with either rigid bandages, or elastic bandages of less than 0.04<br />

m<strong>et</strong>re thick or the width of which at a given point does not reach the two thirds of the bandage<br />

width when new.<br />

4. Do not enter into application of the provisions of paragraph 3:<br />

a) Agricultural vehicles, when they are in traffic within a maximum radius of 25 kms from the<br />

farm;<br />

b) Special equipment used by works' contractors and going either from the garage to the site or<br />

vice versa, as well as the travelling show exploitation engines the use of which does not permit<br />

the use of bandage wheels in rubber, when the load of the mentioned materials and engines on<br />

ordinary road vehicles is uneasy or dangerous.<br />

However, the various vehicles found in paragraphs a) and b) can only move on the public way<br />

only when they will not provoke damages there upon.<br />

Section 6. Miscellaneous provisions<br />

Article 88:<br />

1. Every motor vehicle must be provi<strong>de</strong>d with a strong steering apparatus allowing the driver to<br />

change easily, quickly and safely the direction of his vehicle.<br />

2. Every motor vehicle must be provi<strong>de</strong>d with a reversing gear system which can be operated<br />

from the driving place.<br />

3. Every motor vehicle likely to move above 40 km per hour in climbing must be fitted with a<br />

speed indicator to be found at clear sight of the driver and to be constantly in good working<br />

condition.<br />

4. Every motor vehicle assigned to transport people of which the maximum number of<br />

occupants is below six, including the driver, must be endowed with security belts for the driver<br />

and the passenger occupying the front seat of the vehicle, and it can also have belts on rare<br />

seats.<br />

The characteristics of the security belts are to be d<strong>et</strong>ermined by the Minister in charge of<br />

transports.<br />

5. The following accessories must be found aboard every motor vehicle:<br />

a) a danger signal consisting of an equilateral triangle of at least 0.40 m<strong>et</strong>re in size, with red<br />

bor<strong>de</strong>rs of at least 0.05 m<strong>et</strong>re of width hollowed out bottom or of clear colour, the red bor<strong>de</strong>rs<br />

being lightened by transparency or provi<strong>de</strong>d with reflecting bandage, and the whole capable of<br />

standing in a vertical and stable position;<br />

b) an emergency box containing at least four individual bandages of sterilised gauze, four site<br />

clips for bandages or four saf<strong>et</strong>y pins, a small bottle of disinfectant, a notice "emergency care
