Connection terminals for the power DC bus<br />

At the bottom of the module, covered by the screwed-on lid on the right<br />

(see figure F. H2/17 and figure F. H2/18) the power supply offers the terminal<br />

for the power bus. This bus provides a dc voltage output of 565 V DC<br />

(when the mains voltage is 400 V AC) that feeds all the drive modules that<br />

are part of the DDS system.<br />

All the modules powered with the same power supply must be connected<br />

through the power bus and this condition is a must to run it.<br />

WARNING. Never connect the power bus while the system is running.<br />

There are voltages of about 600 V DC!<br />

Two plates are supplied with each module to join them with the adjacent<br />

drive modules.<br />

MANDATORY. The tightening torque of these terminals must be between<br />

2.3 and 2.8 N·m. This point is very important to ensure good electrical contact<br />

between modules.<br />

FAGOR power supplies have a soft-start for charging the power bus.<br />

The soft start begins when these two conditions, that are necessary and<br />

sufficient, are met:<br />

No errors at the modules connected through the internal bus (connector<br />

X1).<br />

Presence of the three mains phases at the input of the module.<br />

This startup process begins when the FAULT indicator stops blinking and<br />

ends when the status indicator DC BUS ON turns on.<br />

WARNING. Before handling these leads, proceed in the following order:<br />

Stop the motors<br />

Disconnect the mains voltage at the electrical cabinet.<br />

Wait, before handling these leads. The power supply module needs<br />

time to decrease the voltage of the power bus down to safe values<br />

(< 42 V DC). The green indicator DC BUS ON being turned OFF does<br />

not mean that the power bus may be handled or manipulated.<br />

The discharge time depends on the number of elements connected<br />

and it is about 4 minutes.<br />

WARNING. The power buses of different power supply modules must never<br />

be connected in parallel.<br />

MANDATORY. If necessary, the auxiliary power supply APS-24 (24 V DC,<br />

10 A) can only be connected to the DC bus of any regenerative power supply<br />

XPS when the version label of the APS-24 (located on top of it) indicates<br />

a reference newer than PF 23A.<br />

WARNING. Never install an APS-24 to the DC bus of a DDS system with a<br />

regenerative power supply XPS if the reference of the APS-24 is PF 23A or<br />

older.
