In. Pine Bluff. Ark., until spring ... An
auction was held on the courthouse steps of
148 acres of land owned by Alfred J. Suzore.
Memphis theatre owner. The sale brought
$3,150. He has two years to redeem it. The
auction was held to satisfy a court Judgement
in favor of James Rutherford. Negro, who
got a $14,000 judgement again Suzore. He
charges Suzore shot and wounded him while
he wa.s hunting on Suzore's property. Suzore
pleaded .self-defense. One of Suzore's theatres
was sold at auction in connection with the
case, but Suzore continues to operate it.
Spanish-.^meriean war veterans were guests
of the Strand Tlieatre for the opening of
"Stars and Stripes Forever." a musical biography
of John Philip Sousa, the march king,
and covering the Spanish-American war
period . managers for Malco
came in for Malco's annual managers meeting.
A roundtable discussion of problems was
held, M. A. Lightman sr.. M. A. Lightman
jr., Richard Lightman. Herb Kohn, Herbert R.
Levy and Edwin P. Saninsley, Malco executives,
were speakers. A luncheon, a banquet
and a dance were also held. All of the

Owners one-day clinic the day before their
own meeting.
