The ELISA kit,c<strong>on</strong>sisting of the antibody (GT-13A)soluti<strong>on</strong>, anti-mouse IgG-antibodycoated plate, decarbamoylsaxitoxinperoxidasec<strong>on</strong>jugate soluti<strong>on</strong>,washing soluti<strong>on</strong> and stoppingsoluti<strong>on</strong>, was made for practicaluse. By the ELISA kit, at least 40samples can be measured within 40min, and the detecti<strong>on</strong> limit of PSPwas 0.2 nmol of PSP (g<strong>on</strong>yautoxin2/3) per g of shellfish. More than1300 specimens of samples werecollected from various areas ofJapan in 2002-2004 and weremeasured by the ELISA. Goodcorrelati<strong>on</strong> was observed betweenthe ELISA values and those ofmouse bioassay (MB). In theELISA, because of the highsensitivity, small amounts of PSPwere detected from 461 of 611samples which gave negativeresults by MB.
