Abstract: To improve the quality of people life and to reduce the risk of<br />

vulnerability of these, the eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g has some challenges. The eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g<br />

learn<strong>in</strong>g and eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g teach<strong>in</strong>g should to create and to recreate them, that<br />

which is possible with the understand<strong>in</strong>g and the approach to the reality or<br />

situation that the eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g students want to transform with students of other<br />

discipl<strong>in</strong>es.<br />

An example of these <strong>in</strong>itiatives is the The Center of <strong>Education</strong> for the<br />

Development (CED). In this center professors and students of all the academic<br />

programs converge which I lower the pedagogic focus of education for the<br />

development. They have to design and implement practical <strong>in</strong> social<br />

responsibility as Eng<strong>in</strong>eer's project to the Neighborhood with Ingenieros s<strong>in</strong><br />

Fronteras. These projects are learn<strong>in</strong>g spaces where the students have the<br />

possibility <strong>in</strong> classroom and marg<strong>in</strong>al communities to apply knowledge among<br />

other discipl<strong>in</strong>es and to acquire new knowledge, abilities and vital social and<br />

talkative competitions for their professional exercise and <strong>in</strong>teraction with the<br />

other ones.<br />

Introduction<br />

The Corporation University M<strong>in</strong>uto de Dios leader <strong>in</strong> processes of applied <strong>in</strong>vestigation,<br />

social projection and teach<strong>in</strong>g, from the Faculty of Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g and the Center of<br />

<strong>Education</strong> for the Development (CED), which is the unit of Formation and Social Projection<br />

of Unim<strong>in</strong>uto, has proposed a strategic alliance to promote the human and social<br />

development <strong>in</strong> communities <strong>in</strong> high vulnerability situation, start<strong>in</strong>g from the<br />

implementation of projects of social practice <strong>in</strong> eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g that you/they look for to<br />

strengthen and to articulate the professional knowledge with the popular knowledge and<br />

the social abilities of professors, students and marg<strong>in</strong>al communities.<br />
