Kültür, toplumların tarihi süreç içinde karşılaştıkları temel ihtiyaçları gidermek ana
maksadı etrafında oluşturdukları üretimler toplamıdır. Bu üretimler, ortak duygu ve
düşünce yanında toplumsal kimlik, kendine haslık ve tarihsel süreklilik gibi toplumu
özellikli kılan değerleri yansıtmaktadır. Kültürel bütünlüğün en zengin alanlarından
biri de müziktir. İnsanın kendi sesi ve ahengini, tabiat sesleri ve musiki aletleri ile
birleştirerek gerçekleştirdiği icralar, en eski devirlerden beri vazgeçilmez bir faaliyet
olarak süregelmiştir. Araştırmalar, müzik kültürünün toplumların en doğal ifade biçimlerinden
biri olduğunu ortaya koyar. Bilginin ve düşüncenin sanat formuna bürünerek
tarihi süreçte gelenek ve göreneklerle de bütünleşerek hayranlık verici ve kuşatıcı
görünümüne kavuşan müzik kültürü, toplumun diğer sanat alanlarıyla da tam bir
manevi uyum halinde var olagelmiştir.

Culture is the sum total of the productions that the societies gather around the main purpose of
meeting the basic needs they experience in the historical process. These productions reflect common
values, such as social identity, self-esteem and historical continuity as well as common feelings and
thoughts. One of the most substantial fields of cultural integrity is music. Such performances, that
human being realized by combining his own voice and harmony with sounds of nature and musical
instruments have been an indispensable activity since the earliest times. Research reveals that
music culture is one of the most natural forms of expression in societies. The music culture, which
has become a fascinating and enveloping identity by shaping knowledge and thought into the form
of art and integrating with traditions and customs in the historical process, has also existed in a
perfect moral harmony with other branches of art of society.
