The Annual Staff Data <strong>Report</strong> is collected each year in<br />

November. The report includes all staff members actively<br />

employed as of October 15 th of that year. The report also<br />

includes all professional staff who resigned or left the<br />

school system between October 16th of the previous<br />

year and October 15th of the current year<br />

Control Procedures<br />

The staff data report is collected from each of the 24 local<br />

education agencies in <strong>Maryland</strong>, including Edison<br />

Schools. The data is collected in a text format and<br />

processed in a COBOL application. The file is<br />

edited and a report is sent to each school system with a list<br />

of errors. The school system corrects and resubmits the<br />

file. After the edit process has been completed, a<br />

comparison report is generated that compares counts of the<br />

previous and current years. A summary is also created and<br />
