<strong>2009</strong> INSTITUTIONAL PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITY REPORT<br />

1. Mission<br />

- Format for Four-Year Colleges and Universities-<br />

A brief summary of approved institutional mission statement (no more than 50<br />

words)<br />

2. <strong>Accountability</strong> Goals, Objectives and <strong>Performance</strong> Measures<br />

Each campus should review the goals, objectives and performance measures used<br />

in the 2006 accountability report. Each objective must be capable of being<br />

tracked for progress and have at least one performance measure; in addition, there<br />

must be a measure consistent with the wording of the objective. For each current<br />

performance measure, provide actual data for the last year or cohort for which<br />

information is available. This year may or may not coincide with the years in the<br />

column heading. Any new performance measures must be accompanied with<br />

actual data for the four most recent years. Provide a table listing each measure in<br />

numerical order, the source of the data, and an operational definition.<br />

3. Institutional Assessment<br />

Include a short assessment of the institution’s progress in achieving its<br />

accountability/Managing for Results objectives and the goals applicable to the<br />

public four-year colleges and universities in 2004 <strong>Maryland</strong> State Plan for<br />

Postsecondary Education. This should include an analysis of the significant<br />

academic, demographic and financial trends that have affected progress as well as<br />

a response to the specific questions raised by the Commission staff. Where there<br />

has been lack of progress, explain possible causes and remedial actions taken (no<br />

more than six pages).<br />
