<strong>2009</strong> INSTITUTIONAL PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITY REPORT<br />

1. Mission<br />

- Format for Community Colleges-<br />

A brief summary of approved institutional mission statement (no more than 50<br />

words)<br />

2. Institutional Assessment<br />

Include a short assessment of the institution’s progress in achieving the<br />

benchmarks and the goals applicable to community colleges in 2004 <strong>Maryland</strong><br />

State Plan for Postsecondary Education. This should include an analysis of the<br />

significant academic, demographic and financial trends that have affected<br />

progress as well as a response to the specific questions raised by the Commission<br />

staff. Where there has been lack of progress, explain possible causes and<br />

remedial actions taken (no more than six pages).<br />

3. Community Outreach and Impact<br />

Prepare a brief description of the manner in which the institution is serving key<br />

constituencies in its county or larger service area, particularly employers and<br />

schools (no more than three pages). Emphasize the activities that were most<br />

significant and/or not included in the previous year’s report.<br />

4. <strong>Accountability</strong> Indicators<br />

Supply the data and benchmarks/goals for each indicator, using the definitions<br />

provided and following the format of the table shells. This information must be<br />

supplied back to the Commission in electronic form.<br />

Provide tables showing the calculations that were used to obtain the statistics for<br />

the degree progress analysis indicators (successful persister rate and<br />

graduation/transfer rate). There should be separate breakdowns for each of the<br />

four groups of students (college ready, developmental completers, developmental<br />

non-completers, and all students).<br />
