Server which is a Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE)-compliant platform
for developing, deploying and maintaining Web-based applications. The
WebSphere suite comes with an impressive arsenal of products in
support of the application server, including development tools monitoring
components and configuration management utilities (see Figure 8.14).
Some of the other products in the WebSphere family include:
• WebSphere Studio;
• WebSphere Personalization Server;
• WebSphere Business Integrator;
• WebSphere Portal Server;
• WebSphere Host Integration Solution;
• WebSphere Voice Server;
• WebSphere Site Analyzer; and
• DB2.
The enterprise edition of WebSphere also comes bundled with other
IBM products, including:
• Component Broker — a complete, CORBA 2.0 compliant object
transaction monitor;
• Encina — a transaction processing (TP) monitor;
