The benefits of shippers participating in NTE include guaranteed<br />

capacity, access <strong>to</strong> multiple carriers leading <strong>to</strong> optimum cost benefit,<br />

comprehensive reporting system on delivery loss, damages etc.,<br />

compliance management and a single party <strong>to</strong> contact, a single check<br />

<strong>to</strong> write, a single point <strong>to</strong> access all transportation needs. They can<br />

also enter up <strong>to</strong> 150 business rules, such as freight type, shipment time,<br />

size, distance, routing, service levels and insurance requirement, which<br />

are the parameters considered during the matching of the orders.<br />

Since there are so many e-marketplaces with wide-ranging diversity in<br />

each industry, a company may face <strong>to</strong>ugh decisions about which exchange<br />

<strong>to</strong> join. The key fac<strong>to</strong>r that you should consider is the capability of the<br />

digital market <strong>to</strong> create a substantial value proposition directly affecting<br />

the bot<strong>to</strong>m line.<br />

A few minimum criteria that a company must evaluate include:<br />
